Keeping yerself busy in retirement. ?
Why yes I am, thank you very much, CalicoKitty!
I am in my Art Room the majority of the time. I take breaks to workout, bicycle, and TCB. What a wonderfully boring life I lead.
I could go on and on, but it's time now for a new episode of SOLDERMAN that relates to nursing humor!
Did you notice that Solderman's hand did not drop below his waist and break the sterile field? What a cauterizer!
I also say that because the first time I shot this sequence, Solderman's hand dropped below his waist and I had to shoot it all over again. I didn't want some nursing student interested in OR to think breaking the sterile field was okay to do!
I saw my first C-section in March 1983 at Weed Rover Township Hospital as an LPN student. Later, I worked there in OR, in '86 and '87, and assisted in a lot of C-sections.
Although ultrasounds became common in the 1960's, I can remember some patients that did not know their child's gender before birth.
As in the case of Solderman's patient:
I remember mourning the birth of my youngest brother. I wanted a sister. I cried all day. Don't think there were ultrasounds or prenatal care. Not sure. And he was born at home... in the 70s. My mom is a hippy.

My guess, CalicoKitty, is that you didn't "like" the Gear either.
Get my drift?
