A medical question about myself

I know I know go see the DOC right, well I am a little scared to do that. I have been SOB on occasion and I noticed when I am walking around I am getting blueness in my thumb nails. I know that sounds weird ,well at least it sounds weird to me. My resting pulse is usually around 79-80. I am very lg. My blood pressure is usually 150/80. Dr has said BP is not a big deal. I also have a hernia that I am totally ignoring right now. What do you think? I know we don't dx but would you be concerned? PM me if you don't want to respond online.

Thanks everyone

I know I'm a train wreck. I honestly was hoping to get through nursing school before I feel totally apart but I am not sure that is going to happen.

Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the care and concern. I have been DX with high BP 150/86 not too great. They took blood to check blood gases, anemia and thyroid. I will get those back either Monday or Tuesday. I feel better now. I am on HTCZ.

Thanks again for the kick in the pants!

Edited to add that he also thinks I may have GERD. Hey what's one more thing! uggg. So he recommended that I take tums when i feel the pain, if that doesn't work to try something like mylanta, or pepcid.

Much better meds to take for GERD than what he's ordered -- I'm thinking of prilosec, prevacid, protonix, aciphex., etc, Talk to him --he knows your history, current meds, allergies -- etc. If you do have GERD, better to be proactive than to suffer. Also, if you have any surgery/anesthesia -- include GERD in your medical history. Good luck. Hang in there ... What does your doctor believe is causing your fingers to turn blue? He needs to rule out vascular disease. If you don't get the answers you want/deserve -- get a second opinion. And take care of yourself....:)

Although your right about the GERD meds. My insurance won't pay for more than three months of those meds unless you have tried all the over the counters first. So I am stuck.I really can't afford to pay for them out of pocket. As far as the Blue fingers go hey didn't say too much about that other than the blood gases. If it keeps happening I will be back in to see the DOC

It's so sad that insurance dictates what may be in your best interest. Very sad, very common. You need to follow up on the blue fingers -- not normal. I still would recommend a vascular doc -- check for Bueger's and Raynaud's disease. If you smoke, you need to stop immediately. Do your fingers feel warm, cool; do your fingers/fingertips feel numb, painful, etc.? Please follow up on this.

No I am not a smoker at least that is the one good thing going for me. I gave that up 5 years ago now! My hands and toes are usually warm, they get cold sometimes but then it's usally cold out when they're cold.
