I had gone through two rounds of interviews for a job I really wanted. The second interview was yesterday and they told me when I was there that they would let me know today if I got it or not. I haven't heard anything. I waited all day today and nothing.
I am so tired of being rejected by everyone and everything. I was just fired from a job I was doing for over a year and I really wanted this other job. What are the chances that I just didn't get it? Why do jobs tell you that they'll get back and then don't? I don't even know where to go from here. I stopped applying for other jobs because I didn't want to do anything but this job.

@Been there, done that is right. They are busy, and you have no way of knowing if they're dealing with a survey crisis, ghosting you, being flaky, or if they're out sick. Regardless, it's unprofessional.
I would do this: I would wait 48 hours after the timeline they gave you and circle back with an email. In the subject line, put (your name, job application).
Very briefly state your continued interest in the position and your hope to hear back. Include your contact information.
I say this because I have gotten upwards of four jobs I really wanted by doing this. Early on, one manager even told me that, all things being equal, she hired me because I persisted. Once, I even landed a short-term teaching assignment in Hawaii when Castle Hospital was installing their new computer systems because I sent corporate a picture of myself wearing a lei and holding an umbrellaed drink at a luau function. I was the most junior educator to apply.
My logic is, I have nothing to lose :). Good luck! Hope you land the job.
