Hello all,
On the psych ward floors, I know everyone follows the policies and procedure manuals/websites and everything, but in general, do you guys have any opinions on a good psych nursing book? In school we had Stuart/Lauria, but unfortunately I sold it back. Now that I'm interested in purchasing a psych nursing book, I'm wondering should I buy another Stuart/Lauria or do you guys know of a better text?

Stuart & Laraia's 8th edition is the text that was selected for two of my graduate level courses so far. For my undergrad, we used the Varcarolis text. I saw a link here once with recommendations of other psych-related books which was helpful too; my favorite from that list was "The Day the Voices Stopped" - allows learning in another way! Hope that helps a bit!
what is meant by "learning in another way"?

My favorite is Psychiatric Nursing, by Boyd and Nihart (both named Mary Ann!) Good practical application of clinical information. Lippincott.
