A very brief vent....

One of the nurses I'm working with has been on the phone taking a personal call for about an hour now. The rest of us are fairly busy and helping each other out.

We had a nurse on our floor who was famous for the talking on the phone thing. We all pretty much just ignored and expected it. I didn't realize how bad it was until I happened to see the display on the phone and realize that the timer said "01:23:??" (meaning one hour and twenty three minutes, I can't remember the exact seconds, hence the question marks lol). Needless to say, I was -er, ticked off-.... Fortunately for me, I didn't have to confront her because our boss happened to walk by...I don't know what was said, but this nurse came out of the office with a very unpleasant look on her face!

Even if you only take 5 minutes to post, that is 5 minutes away from patients who need you. I agree your coworkers actions are deplorable but if you are that busy save the vent for after you clock out...
