Hi,
Well I see there are some TCC students here so I am hoping you all can help me out. I am taking A & P again, took it 13 years ago and got an A this time scraping out a C. IN my other classes making A's and B's.
Pretty discouraged. A girl in my psych class who took A&P here told me that the final comes from a nat'l test bank and that they give you a crazy curve, of like 30 pts. Anyone know if thats true? Also I have Johnson who I like but hear from other students is not the best teacher, (Although I feel my C is my fault not her's) I need some kind of better study stratagies for this class. Answers, advise , and encouragement will all be appreciated. Final is on monday , unless it comes a blizzard.
Thanks for your advise, Calliesue

Hello! I'm taking it on Wednesday. I have Luyster for Lecture & had Johnson for Lab.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. I heard that nobody has ever lowered their present grade with the final (& that came from a teacher).
It is curved & full of questions that at this point, we either know it or we don't. A lot of the stuff we won't know.... it's because we haven't been taught yet & the teachers know that.
It's a standardized test to compare us with other A&P students at other schools to make sure we're getting the basics that we need out of the class. It's expected that we won't know it all & I've ever heard that it's even a difficult test for teachers!
I'm just going to read over my notes from class & not worry about it too much. Good luck!

i took all of my pre- classes at tcc . i had mr foote (ne , even though i am a south campus student) for online a&p 1and 2 . i can tell you for 100% certainty that he did not at that time pull his questions from a test bank ( now let me say i was in the very first online class for a&p) . i have also taken regular on campus a & p and even if they did pull from a test bank the content was similar to the stuff i should have been tested on. now as far as having a curve. i never had a curve with my science courses but that is just my experience. don't worry about a&p because you have a bigger problem. did you say you have johnson...the vet? she is horrible i had her for micro in 2004. i know more about rabies than i do micro. look her up on rate my professors.com and you will see she is not very popular. i have a real long summery of what a i think about her teaching abilities.

Is that test bank thing new, or only at a certain campus? I took both of my A&Ps at the NE campus, and there wasn't any testing out of a national test bank or anything like that.
I had Carmichael and really appreciated her teaching style. She's very fair and goes the extra mile to make sure people understand.
Well... the teachers & campuses must do things differently.
Our was from a test bank.... 60 questions. We could miss 9 and still make 100 because of the curve (& several questions on material that we never covered.... & weren't expected to know).
I made an A! :)
