I am pretty nervous about my Fall semester with A&P 1, Micro, Lifespan, and an 8-16 hr/wk job + callouts. I currently work at an Alzheimer's Care Community as a Caregiver and this month I am also taking a CNA course so I can get a job between the end of my year of prerecs and the beginning of my nursing school placement. This summer I managed to work 8-24 hrs/wk and go to summer school for both semesters. However my job is really emotionally and physically demanding and I am not sure that emotionally I am up for the challenge of working there and taking a full load this semester. I am nervous about finding another job, or not finding a job and how that will look. For prenursing, is it wise just to focus on school and not work? With A&P 1 and Micro, is that good enough reason to just drop the job thing? It's the callouts that are tough to keep up with. They are stressing me out. What should I focus on?

To be honest, i've heard so many stories where people have a full time job, and still going to school taking 3 classes etc. They have managed to get through and get good grades, so i know you can do it. However working and school is no joke. It all depends on if you can survive without a job while going to school or for the fall semester. If you can handle finances, then i would suggest to just focus on school. Good luck with the classes.

I have 3 kids and I'm doing the same classes plus 2 more... You'll be fine, its just about time management. :)
I can handle finances, and I can probably work too. I am also disabled though and going back to school is still a huge learning process for me. I still haven't been out of the ER for more than 6 months at a time for around 3-4 years. At my job I had before this summer I was only working part-time because of my disability. It is difficult for me to think clearly about this because people think that anyone who is disabled has a crutch. Because it isn't physical (it's Severe Bipolar Disorder) people tend to have misconceptions about it. I am probably more nervous about my disability than anything else, it has really impacted my life in the past.
In my opinion. Whatever you can handle. You are absolutely right, when people think of disability, they think you walking around with a crutch all the time, totally not true. If you feel you can work and go to school at the same time, then go for it. If you want to just focus on school, then that's a good idea to. All i know is that having a severe disability is like a full time job in it's own right. Hang in there, whatever your choice is going to be, you are going to do well this semester. Good luck:yes:
Thanks, the advice really helps :)

Hey, just wanted to cheer you on. I did Micro, A&P + 200 level math and english. I made it out with a full time job, but a B in micro. It's all about balance and staying on top of things! Good luck!

Honestly, it really just depends on what you can realistically handle. If you can handle it, then great! It's all about your time management skills. For me, personally, I want to solely focus on school. Because of that, I'm not currently working, and am only taking AP 1, Micro, and Medical Terminology. It just keeps me from getting too overwhelmed. However, you might handle things better than I do.
What you can do, if possible, is review your instructors syllabi, and see what kind of things will be required of you. Make a schedule. If you deem that not working(if possible) is your option, then do so. :)
