I am having trouble with A&P I have 5 other classes and I'm getting A's and B's. I take my A&P class once a week in the evening, from the very start it has been a struggle. I'm 2 wks from finals and it will be on the nervous system. If I don't get an A. I will have to take it over since all of my other test scores this semester have been D,C. If I thave to take it over it will set me back on applying to the RN program. You must get a C or better.
I don't want to take the class over, I think I should of dropped it but I was trying to do my best. Any help I would be greatful. I need to pull this off. Most of us are adults in the class. We started with about 28 people and now its about 15. He is not encouraging at all. He has told most of us we wouldn't pass the class. He even told us we should all think of other careers if we don't pass his course. stating that how you do in A&P is a good radar on how you would do in Nursing or other health areas. I don't think its true. We have a test every 3 weeks on 3 three chapters. Thats a lot of material. He doesn't give us study material and he wont meet with us. He leaves the class with us a night. We are a sattelite from the main campus and it seems like he's just going through the motions and barely teaching us.

How much time are you putting towards studying the material? How does the instructor test? In my opinion, A&P I and II are not hard. Not one bit. Here are a few tips:
- Form a study group
- Study at least 1 hr. per day
- If you don't understand a concept, do research (Google, books, case studies, etc.)
- Ask questions in class (even if the instructor may seem discouraging)
- Repetition is key
Here is a link to download all of my A&P I notes. These notes got me through A&P I with an A. My lowest grade was a 90% (I think). I graduated with a BA degree with a not so stellar GPA, so if I can pass A&P I anyone can.

Now, go study. If you have any questions feel free to email me at: ag.wade (at) gmail (dot) com

Is anyone else doing well in the class?
Here are over 200 pictures that may help you with lecture and lab. I believe I have a few pics in there on the nervous system.

In your shoes, I'd stop trying to learn the material from the professor and start learning it on my own. I'd still go to class but I'd go to listen for any clues about what is on the test or how the test will be set up. Among other things, I'd be writing all the terms I hear (without trying to understand how they are connected).
I'd start with the those terms and the syllabus and course objectives.
If you can pool resources with the other people in your class, that should help. Even if you don't really study together, you could exchange lists of terms or what each of you thinks will be on the test.
Take a little time to review test taking strategies, even if you have pretty good test taking skills.

Everyone has been so helpful. This weekend I had almost given up. AG Wade I can't open up the .zIp files. I don't have winzip. My trial is over and they want me to pay $30. to download the software. I can't afford it right now.
I'm going to keep eveyone posted on my progress finals is next week. There are some people in the class who are doing well. The weird thing is, they are people who are right out of high school who just took A&P,Biology and chemistry. So for them its like a refresher course, but most of us are struggling. Since its an evening class and most people are working its hard to get a study group in the class. I am going to all of the sites you guys gave me. You don't know how much encouraged i fell now.
You are the best
Thanks
Hi AG,
I can't open the Zips file, I had winzip on a trial basis and now that its over they want me to pay $30 bucks to get it, do you have the files saved another way
Thats weird you ask the ones who are doing well are the people who just got out of HS and took A&P,Biology or Chemistry, most of us are struggling
There should be numerous programs online that you can use to unzip files for free. You can do a quick Google search. Or, you can email me and I'll reply with them as attachments. My email is above in my first post.
