For one thing, there were too many elements of classical fascism that didn't seem to fit. For another, the term has been overused to the point of meaninglessness, especially by left-leaning types who call you a fascist if you oppose abortion or affirmative action. For yet another, the term is hazily defined, even by its adherents. From the beginning, fascism has been an incoherent doctrine, and even today scholars can't agree on its definition. Italy's original version differed from Germany's, which differed from Spain's, which differed from Japan's. Quote ... is there any point in calling Trump a fascist, even if true? Doesn't that alienate his voters? Wouldn't it be better just to describe his actions without labeling him controversially? Until recently, I thought so. No longer. The resemblances are too many and too strong to deny. Americans who support liberal democracy need to recognize what we're dealing with in order to cope with it, and to recognize something, one must name it. Trump has revealed himself, and we must name what we see.

And besides that you are just wrong. https://www.readlucid.com/blog-posts/which-party-aligns-more-with-fascism-debunking-the-myths-and-examining-the-realities "Conclusion... While the term "fascism" is often misused as a smear tactic, a close examination of policies reveals that it is the Democratic Party's push for centralized government control, suppression of free speech, and prioritization of the collective over individual rights that aligns more closely with the core principles of fascism. In contrast, the Republican Party's emphasis on individual liberty, free speech, and limited government stands in stark opposition to the authoritarianism that fascism represents. For those who value freedom, personal responsibility, and limited government, it is crucial to see through the political rhetoric and recognize which party's policies align more with liberty—and which ones threaten to erode it.” and another.... https://thehill.com/opinion/campaign/5508522-fascism-trump-myths-debunked/ "But such use of the term only reveals their complete ignorance of what "fascism" really means. Fascism involves the centralization of governmental authority in the executive with no checks and balances. Fascist governments seek to create centrally planned command economies, subordinating private capital to the government. Racism and nativism are central tenets. On all these counts, Trump comes up far short. When it comes to centralizing authority, the president has definitely been on a binge in promulgating executive orders. The number and breadth of his orders are greater than past presidents', but not illegal. (Democrats could have, of course, curtailed the executive powers of the presidency when either Barack Obama or Joe Biden were in the White House, but apparently they were too busy enjoying the perks of power. Oops.) And Trump still pressed forward with his omnibus "big beautiful bill" through legislative channels, not unilaterally. Trump has criticized, often harshly, judges when they rule against him. But the Trump administration has not defied court orders or injunctions (it has appealed them), nor has it ignored court rulings. Despite Democrats loudly proclaiming their support for the rule of law, Trump could reasonably be called the most steadfast presidential supporter of the rule of law in decades, given his administration's determination to enforce immigration laws — laws that have been routinely ignored by six previous presidential administrations (including Trump's first term). At the same time, Democratic states and cities are routinely ignoring federal law by refusing to cooperate with federal law enforcement — even releasing convicted criminals back into the community. Not only are checks and balances intact, so are elections. Trump has not cancelled any votes — and dozens have occurred since his inauguration — nor has he forced any Democrats off the ballot. Of course, these facts have not prevented Democrats from continuing to claim Trump will do so in the future"

I can tell you did not read my linked article. Thats too bad. I said absolutely nothing about the "Nazi thing". Trump is an authoritarian. He is a racist and a nativist. He dehumanizes his opponents by calling them vermin and scum. He is trying to control the media like Fox, TikTok and CBS. He is using the military to bend other countries to his will. He is building his private police force (ICE) to pressure cities and states to give him what he wants. He pressures corporations, law firms and universities to obey his whims. He is comedically slapping his name onto any and every building. Once he gets control of the Fed, he will crash the economy. He is a fascist.

Feb 3Feb 3 Quote We have states that are so crooked and they're counting votes." I wanted to know the context of this statement and couldn't find it? What is he saying here? I'm not saying that our voting process shouldn't have some oversight but it's generally worked well for 250 years. Let's keep safeguards in place and stop lying to the American people that the system is crooked and you won the election. Going into an election he's setting us up again to mistrust the results.

I agree that he's setting us up, but I also believe he and his political faction have been working diligently on stealing election outcomes à la Putin's dog and pony shows in Russia.

Feb 10Feb 10 Experts Internal Department of Homeland Security document shows CBS News 2/9/2026 Less than 14% of those arrested by ICE in Trump's 1st year back in office had violent criminal records, document shows Quote Nearly 60% of ICE arrestees over the past year had criminal charges or convictions, the document indicates. But among that population, the majority of the criminal charges or convictions are not for violent crimes. For example, while Mr. Trump and his aides often talk about immigration officials targeting murderers, rapists and gangsters, the internal data indicate that less than 2% of those arrested by ICE over the past year had homicide or sexual assault charges or convictions. Another 2% of those taken into ICE custody were accused of being gang members.
Feb 10Feb 10 Experts ABC News 2/9/2026 Trump threatens to block opening of new bridge between US and Canada Quote The six-lane bridge is set to connect Windsor, Ontario, and Detroit, Michigan. The president did not mention the bridge by name, but appears to be referring to the Gordie Howe International Bridge. FYI, Gowdie Howe played hockey for 25 years with the Detroit Red Wings. It will supplement the privately owned Ambassador Bridge --busiest US-Canada crossing site per Wiki with direct highway to highway connection. Planning for the transportation needs of this area started in early 2000's, well before Obama president. Bridge initially developed as Detroit River International Crossing. The Buy American Act, enacted in 1933, requires the U.S. government to prefer U.S.-made products in its purchases. Federal government only involved in widening connecting road, not bridge construction per my recall. Bridge payed for by a private-public Canadian partnership. Feb 12Feb 12 We are all passengers in Trump's death cab The nihilism of the regime is its most terrifying attribute. https://www.publicnotice.co/p/trump-polling Quote Nearly 13 months into Trump's second term, the most terrifying attribute of his regime is its utter contempt for the United States, and how blithely willing they are to destroy our nation and its people (let alone other nations). With most of the Trump Show — which began in 2015 — now in the rearview mirror, and his mind and body rapidly decaying before our eyes, one might think Trump would be thinking about the "legacy" he will be leaving behind in a few years. Other presidents have been consumed with the idea of building institutions that survive their presidency — such as Wilson's League of Nations, FDR's New Deal, and LBJ's Great Society — but Trump's singular focus has been on tearing down the government, even as he sucks the nation dry with his corruption. And while Trump rushes to place his name on monuments throughout DC before he leaves office, he's given every indication he's fine leaving behind a trail of utter and complete destruction. In short, Donald J. Trump is a nihilist.
