I just entered the nursing program myself and survived my first week =) . I know you may be looking for an answer from people who have been through it longer, however I do have one thing I wish I would have done earlier before the week. I recommend reading the chapters (if you know which ones will be covered your first week) right now to be ahead of yourself. 1) It would have calmed my nerves a bit more just knowing what the teacher was talking about since the first week is so overwhelming and 2) I am now loaded with reading and noting last weeks lecture as well as preparing myself for next weeks lecture. Also, go ahead right away and get to know people, your going to be with them for two years, so no need having an akward silence earlier on. Best of luck

The hardest thing for me is not procrastinating. I am really trying this class to stay on top of the readings and study more!

Having gone thru the LPN program and now starting my RN, the hardest thing for me was constantly saying "No." "No" I can't go shopping, "No" I can't go out and eat, "No" I can't go to the movies, all because I'm studying. Nobody understands the social life you DON'T have as a nursing student, except maybe a med student.

Based on the posts I've seen on the student forums over the past few years. . .
My advice. . .Organize your studying and know your resources.

The hardest thing for me so far is making it through my OB clinical and lecture because of my lack of interest in the subject. I am finding myself procrastinating with the reading (and playing on allnurses.com instead) because it's so boring to me!
