Hi ktreiter,

You said you got accepted to Milwaukee Area Tech LPN Clinicals for Spring 2011? I was actually denied acceptance, but just got called in for a spot as it became available.. I haven't been given any information at all. I was wondering if you already registered for classes and clinicals? What are the majority of the class/clinical times? And are you also attending the orientation on January 18th?

I don't think I have to attend the orientation on the 18th since I attended the one in December. When I went to that orientation there were 24 of us in the LPN program and we were divided up by the 3 clinical sites - North side, East side and South side (I am attending clinicals on the South side). I'm not 100% sure, but I believe we all have the same schedule; you do not get to pick your schedule, it is given to you based on where you do your clinicals. My schedule is s follows: Monday and Wednesday 8-10am Downtown Campus then 1-4pm at the Oak Creek Campus, Tuesdays 11am-1pm and 2-4pm at the Downtown Campus and Thursdays are clinicals 7am-1pm. I'm sure you will have a similar schedule. I hope this helps.

So I was told to get accepted into matc milwaukee nursing program you need the better than B- in grades and a good score on pre NLN exam with these things your sure to get into the program. Well I have maintained a 3.6 GPA and scored a 125 NLN exam. I petition for jan 10 program well I was told that I was put on the waiting list. I have been hoping to hear about possibly getting pulled off the waiting list. Well I was wondering if anyone has heard of anyone getting a call or letter about getting accepted off the waiting list? Also I was wondering what is the chance of getting in on the second shot of petitioning? Any advice would be apperciated cuz am losing faith in the school!

Hi MooMollly88,

Your grades and NLN score is good. I think that's the first thing you need to get done before petitioning. Just so you know, Milwaukee Area Tech doesn't waitlist anymore. They have a petition process, so this means if you want to get into 'clinical' or take the core classes, then you will have to petition. You fill out the application and finish all the health requirements. Then submit it. MATC will notify you by mail if you've been selected for the upcoming semester core classes. I'm not sure what you mean by getting 'pulled off' the second shot of petitioning? But if you don't get in after the 1st time of petitioning, then you will just have to reapply to get into the next semester of the core classes. MATC has specific petitioning window dates too. Hope this helps! :)

Hi Ktreiter,

How was your clinical location determined? Did you guys get to choose or was it automatically assigned? I've heard of some students at other school trading clinical locations when they weren't happy with the places they got and I'm wondering if that's an option with MATC!
