Anyone applying to the UW SoN for fall 2013? Anyone else FREAKING OUT about it like I am?

This is a random question but does anyone know if nursing schools count grades for technical programs like phlebotomy?

They don't count the grades, they generally don't transfer anyway, but they like to know that you have the certificate/license/experience.
I know no one is reading this thread anymore... But I got into one of the cc ADN programs around here. So I'll get my BSN at UW soon enough :)
Congrats hudabelle!

@hudabelle, congrats! What school?
Seattle Central. I have a couple more applications out so we'll see if anything else takes. It's nice to know I'm, at least, going somewhere. After taking one evening class a quarter for forever it's been a long time coming.

Hey everybody, I got wait listed for UW SoN. Does anyone know how many people they typically let in off the wait list each year? Or how many people are on the wait list?
Last year they let 9 students off the waitlist. (I had a friend that was originally #10 and did not get in). The student who was #9 on the waitlist was admitted literally our 2nd day of orientation!!! So, it can happen really late. ^_^
*Keep in mind, of course, that every year is different and there is no way to guess how many student will be admitted from the waitlist!
I did as well! Let me know if you do decide on going there... We can start a fb group or something

Congrats hudabelle! My good friend got accepted at Seattle Central as well. She too is waiting to hear back from a few others.

For any of the current students...Since we will be taking several classes each quarter, are there different books for each class? Also, what was the approx. cost of books for fall? Thanks!

Your biggest load of books, scrubs, patches, lab jacket and stethoscope (if u don't have one) will be the first quarter in which you will spend around $1000. It depends each year, some of us got some books that were reused from the year previous. You will need to online access for most if not all of your books because they make you watch videos and they audit you on them. After that you reuse the pharm book, patho book for your next classes... You have small purchases at least through the rest of your first year, nothing big though...
