Seattle University -- APNI 2011

U.S.A. Washington

Published

I've been a reader of these message boards for some time and thought I'd finally start participating. I didn't see a thread for the SU APNI 2011 application process, so I thought that as the deadline is this week I would start a thread and see how everyone's process went. I'm interested in the primary care np track myself.

I haven't heard anything yet. Why are they so slow? It's getting on my nerve. Anyone else?

nothing over here either. I'm losing it waiting....

Specializes in Adult Nurse Practitioner / Gero NP.

I can definitely mirror everyone's anticipation anxiety about hearing back. I don't think we should expect to hear anything just yet, though. I looked through some posts on here from last year from applicants to the SU APNI program and it seems like people started getting interview invitations starting the first week of Feb and not before. So I don't think any of

us will hear back in January. When I saw that, I felt better.

Also, in the email they sent to FNP applicants inviting them to change their preferance to AGNP, they asked to hear back from you by Jan 14. I'd imagine that they began to seriously look at the all applications only recently.

While we're waiting for Feb, did anyone else opt to change from FNP to AGNP (or apply to GNP/AGNP from the get-go)? I decided to change my application to AGNP. If you haven't posted it before, which specialization did you all apply to?

Any news for anybody? I should think we will be hearing about interviews fairly soon...

This is my very first post, though I have been here for awhile. Like everyone else, I am anxiously waiting to hear back. Flaneur--I had a very difficult time deciding between the FNP and the AGNP specialization. However, after three sleepless nights and more research, I elected to stay with the FNP specialization because I did not want to be limited to just adults and geriatrics in my practice. Additionally, the peds' content would be essential to my professional endeavors. Does any body know how we will be notified of interviews? Is it through email or snail mail?

I've read that in previous years it has been through e-mail. I've been checking madly every 20 seconds!!! Hahaha

I called them yesterday. Emails will be sent out the first week of Feb. and we should know by beginning of march if we are in! The wait is killing me.

Thanks for checking on that for us Ibigdeli! How's everyone passing the wait? My spring semester just started, so at least I have that keeping me busy (as well as a LOT of snow up on the East Coast)

first post here! I just joined a couple days ago.

I just checked this website: https://webapps.seattleu.edu/applicationstatus/graduate.aspx

And it says "Your admission decision has been mailed" !!! I ran to the mailbox just now and theres nothing in the mail :-(. Oh the anticipation........

JUST CHECKED MY EMAIL! Got an invite to interview!!!! Now I just have to decide if I should fly out or do it on the phone. Good luck to all!!! :)

I also just received an email invite! Has anyone asked whether doing a phone interview puts applicants at a disadvantage? I would love to see the campus and talk to students and faculty in person, but the interviews are early next week and I live on the east coast!

Junipers, I just called the nursing admissions office and the woman I spoke to said that at this point for us east-coasters a phone interview is just fine. What specialty did you apply for?
