greetings!, Does anyone here have any info whatsoever about Radians College?, its in NW on vermont ave, I've been lookin into their website but not enough to convince me, Although it does say that their directors "voted" to have an RN program back in 2004. I would love to hear from RN's or current RN students who actually went/go there. I believe it's better to hear from people who actually know the school and what they can offer. I am currently in lpn school and about to grad this april. thanks.

Yes, am a former Radians college student. I really wouldnt advise anyone to go to Radians evening class. First of all after each class, u have to do a final which is not enough in Radians. U also have to do an ATI test to proceed to the next class and I hear now they're doing HESI too. This assures that you end up repeating more than u'd like at Radians. Also its one of the most costly LPN programs in the area. The miscommunication with the Administrators is annoying. If u happen to have a problem paying ur fees say u use their month to month payment plan, U acquire a late fee of at least 150 every month which is ridiculous. Credit cards dont even charge that much. U also pay library fees for a library (that only has a handful of books mind you) and a computer lab that you rarely use or is rarely open. I also found out that the LPN program at Radians is at least 18 months long while other schools in the area are 12 months long.

I would suggest you try other schools in the area that offer evening classes. There's VMT on Connecticut ave, there's UDC which is located at the Univ of DC campus on Connecticut Ave, there's also Capital Health Institute located on Georgia Ave, there's Comprehensive etc. There's also Utimate Health Nursing school out in the Falls Church VA area.

DO NOT GO TO RADIANS if u know u'r struggling to make ends meet.

Also if you are already an LPN and looking to join an RN school, why dont you try NOVA's LPN to RN transition program or I hear there's a school called Nursing Review Center in the Hyattsville area in MD which also offers RN classes and is relatively cheap. Going to Radians for 36000K is a RIP OFF. Am really not a fan of that school!!!!!

Radians College and their administrators seem to not care nor understand their students which is sad.

Sad because they/we will come on such sites and give our honest feedback and actively advocate prospectives to not join their school.

They NEED to understand that in 16-18 months MOST people can go to a regular public college and gain their LPN certificates in the same amount of time that they offer.This route is infact better for them because they can continue without ever going back to complete their RN degrees.

Its called BAIT AND SWITCH.I was baited in by being told that my program was 14 months long..which we recently found out that is 18+ months long.

They have divided our fundamental classes into little unneccesary grouping called Skills 1 and Skills 2.

The pharmacology instructor was ridiculous.At times you could honestly tell that she did'nt know what she was teaching.Her math was horrible.With honesty,their fundamentals and A&P instructors were wonderful.They were the only good experiences i have had so far.

I have no complaints about the Finance Director. At least not yet.

Our classes started in September 2008 and our graduation date is May 2010..i mean really...had i honestly known this i would have been elsewhere or went to a regular community college with that time frame and it would have been cheaper.

This like everything else shall soon pass.

They will understand hopefully sooner than later.

Here i come Comprehensive..cheaper tuition,no parking fares, higher pass rates.

I am going to sit out for a month and 3 weeks start Med Surg and still finish before my former class..

I WILL graduate with a class that started at Comprehensive 4 months after me..

Had i been the detailed about my research i would have been finished with this stepping stone in september of 2009.But hey!

Like the "dean" said..."this may not be the school for you,perhaps you maybe better elsewhere."

A dean is supposed to be a student/admin advocate to search and find out why her students feel this way.

But her response was negative and disheartening.

I'll take her wonderful advice.

Matter of fact, I am going to report them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) of Washington DC today!!!!!!!!! Somebody needs to help us because we are paying money that we work hard for. We make sacrifices, but they treat students like "whatever...go to another school if u dont feel satisfied here" I hope that school shuts down soon!! I am going to report them seriously. I just need to research where else I can report them!! :angryfire

it is unfortunate that you had such a negative experience and i am not trying to say that you are not entitled to your opinion. you should approach it as an opportunity for personal growth.

however, your statements are misleading and i hope you realize you could be sued for some of your comments. that being said, i am familiar with some of the issues made in the post. a student in the class -on behalf of the class- wrote a very disrespectful letter to the dean and there was not unanimous support. most of the people involved with that incident have left the school but tainted the class's reputation and this is very sad. in addition, the letter was written with spelling errors and very poor grammar which suggests that person needed more school, not less. if the person in the original post signed their name in agreement with the letter (or maybe even wrote the letter);you should be embarrassed. it was rude and reflected extreme immaturity. there is no place for this kind of behavior in the clinical setting. it seriously compromises working relationships and because of that lives can be lost.

one must realize that nursing school is not a part time job. if a program is brief and intensive, this requires focused study and self discipline. just because school fees are paid does not automatically grant anyone a degree. it is unsafe (for patients) to graduate students who are uneducated, lack self discipline, and have no respect for authority.

i would hope the person who made the post would grow and mature where ever they are and realize that it is a school's responsibility to graduate students who exhibit competence, professionalism and class.

radians college staff are the ones who lack respect as they are so rude and arrogant to the belief that it is the student and not the way they choose to view the students. when it is all said and done, radians is a for- profit company. and the gain comes from the student like me who work overtime and double time, with reduced quality time with my family and children. to come to a school that does not care for anything else other than did i pay my last tuition fee. regardless of my financial situation at that time. you mention being sued, someone should sue this school and expose the greed and that underlines the false smiles and empty words spoken of: we strive for excellence (as long as we have our money on time or there will be a 150 late fee)! bogus!

FYI, apparently finding pass rates on DC schools is somewhat difficult. Anyway, just for those of you thinking about Radians college, their pass rate for 2010 as of April 1st was 66.67. Although amazingly, other schools weren't doing so hot either other than Georgetown and Howard.
