The Wait Begins... Any Other NVCC 2012 Hopefuls?

So, after a few years of pre-requisites and co-requisites and getting used to school again after a break for a few decades, I finally submitted my application for the Traditional program at NOVA.

I have a feeling this is going to be a loooong 5 or so months of waiting.

Anyone else apply/applying?

OK thanks for the info...was thinking maybe if I countdown in days it might go faster!! :)

I have a white board on my fridge that my 9 year old son is using to countdown to summer break maybe I can add my countdown till June 11th when hopefully we will know something!!! :)

I got an email today from MEC Student Services saying my application was recieved and processed and forwarded to the nursing department for consideration.....did everyone else get an email??

I am assuming this means all my stuff was in order and I had everything what I needed, I was so paranoid I had forgotten something even though I checked it 4 million times before I mailed it!!!

And the wait continues only 25 days left!!:)

I checked my email and nothing there. Hopefully, I will hear from them soon confirming they have everything in order for review. I think that if there was a problem with your stuff, they would have said so. 25 days...that's a long time to fret over this. I know that my husband is already starting to get annoyed with me and my rantings. I'm thankful that it's not just me going through this!!

Hey...I got that email too...I also received a letter in the mail last week advising that they had received my application and if accepted into the program make sure to have July 25th available for mandatory orientation.

I didn't recieve a letter yet just the email today but I just submitted my application on Monday so hopefully I will get one in the next day or so. How long after you got the email did you get the letter?? Do you know if they have mandatory oreintation for everyone at the same time?? Sorry for all the questions but I applied to the LPN-RN program and really hope if I have orientation it is on the same day because I am taking my kids to Ireland this summer for my mom's birthday and will be gone from July 12th to 24th so I would make it home just in time for orientation!!!

Hey LPN-RN2012....I sent in my application on May 2nd and received the letter around the 7th or 8th...I live pretty close to the MEC campus so that may explain why I receive the letter so fast. I applied for the RN program so I'm not sure if the orientation dates are the same. I'm sure you'll receive a letter in the mail sometime next week letting you know more about preparing for the orientation.

FYI...just took a look @ the letter again...it says mandatory orientation is set for July 27th

Hello everyone!

I submitted my application last month and received email from school saying that they had received and passed on to Nursing department for consideration as well.

I just wanna make sure for mandatory orientation will be June 27th instead of July 27th... I sent email to Nursing department and she sent me back with June 27th Wednesday.

Can you check it out one more time?

To those of you who have received a letter / email already. When did you send in your application? And is the mandatory orientation in June or July?

Hi Etrips,

I sent my application express mail last Friday and it was delivered Monday May 14th I got an email on Thursday from student services saying they had received, processed and forwarded my application to the nursing department for consideration and I got a letter today from the nursing department saying they recieved my application and if accepted I have to do a drug screen and background check before mandatory oreintation which is set for June 29th.......but remember that I applied for the LPN-RN program so I don't know if they do things different!!

I have not gotten any email or letter in the mail about them getting my application received. Hopefully, though. Meanwhile, i am going to an open house at Chamberlain Coll of Nursing in Arlington on June 7th. In case i do note get in, i am putting my application right away at Chamberlain. The application deadline there is Aug 1st and the class starts Oct. 29th. This is a 3yr BSN program. I know this seems insane, but i am the kind of person that doesn't put all her eggs in one basket (sometimes that is bad and sometimes not so much). I always have a back up plan. To wait another year is something i just cannot even imagine. I really hope i get in NVCC program though...since that is my first choice after all.
