Received "provisional" acceptance from HU College of Va Bch

U.S.A. Virginia

Published

Hi all! Well I received my "provisional" acceptance from HU College of Va Beach on saturday. Am I excited? YES---however they only gave me until May 8th (tomorrow) to committ. I also applied at TCC as well but no word from them as of yet. My provisional acceptance states I need to take the HESI A2 for what I assumed to be the "final cut". Never heard of provisional acceptance before but I guess this is new for HU this year. The test is scheduled for May 16th at the Va Bch campus. That leaves me with less than 11 days (at the time in which I received letter) I'm down to 8 days left. I'm a bit nevous but I've read that it's basic knowledge on math, grammar, vocabulary, reading and comp, anatomy& physiology, chemistry and critical thinking. I wish all who received their acceptance letters best of luck. Any words of advice will be greatley appreciated.

I received my LPN at New Horizons Regional Education Center, which has since closed their LPN program back in 2011. There are several technical schools and vocational schools around the seven cities. I can only suggest that you do what's right for YOU. I chose this path for myself and I'm glad I did.

Not sure what they require. It's not online and they don't tell you. My hesi score was 77%. The first semester is down and I'm telling you----it's rough! Good luck!

Take care,

Hello Everyone!

OMG.....I'm almost finish with the second semester. Let me just say----I can't wait until finals are here!!! Nursing Assessment wasn't too bad sense I basically do it everyday as an LPN except in RN school it's a full head to toe. I've learned some additional things and can't wait to put into practice. My computations to pharmacology class is pretty challenging at times. I did basic conversions and dosage calculations 6 years ago so I had a rough start but so far I've maintained a high B. You have to get a 85 on the comprehensive dosage calculations to pass the class and move on to the professional level which is your clinical and med surgical semesters.

My summer semester will be the LPN-RN transition course with a clinical rotation then fall 2014 Med-Surg, Patho and Pharm with 2 days of 12 hour clinical. They use that semester to weed out the weak (so I'm told).

I'm looking forward to a 30 day break! You guys keep in touch and good luck!

Graduate2010, I'm still waiting to hear back for the admittance into the fall semester. Fingers crossed! Do you remember how long it took you to get your letter? I mailed it at the end of Feb before the deadline of March 1st and received an email stating they received it but now it's near the end of April and I yet to hear anything.

Also Congrats and I hope you have a great summer semester!

YAY I got admitted into HU but now I'm waiting on more info and I've only been given a week to get all this stuff turned in. I have one more question for you Stephanie. Were you required to pay the $500 deposit fee? I'm seeing this in the packet and it's saying it's due when all my other forms are due back.

Yes I did have to pay and they put it towards your tuition for the fall semester. Get everything taken care of because they will drop you from classes if things are not in order.

Congrats on your admission. Look for me on registration day.

Stephanie
