Hi all! Well I received my "provisional" acceptance from HU College of Va Beach on saturday. Am I excited? YES---however they only gave me until May 8th (tomorrow) to committ. I also applied at TCC as well but no word from them as of yet. My provisional acceptance states I need to take the HESI A2 for what I assumed to be the "final cut". Never heard of provisional acceptance before but I guess this is new for HU this year. The test is scheduled for May 16th at the Va Bch campus. That leaves me with less than 11 days (at the time in which I received letter) I'm down to 8 days left. I'm a bit nevous but I've read that it's basic knowledge on math, grammar, vocabulary, reading and comp, anatomy& physiology, chemistry and critical thinking. I wish all who received their acceptance letters best of luck. Any words of advice will be greatley appreciated.

Congrats on your acceptance! I use to see a lot of your posts when I first started "lurking" through these boards. They aren't giving you much time but you've made it this far, I'm sure you'll do well on the HESI! Sorry I don't have any advice for you, I'm still on my journey to become a student nurse. I turn my application into Riverside for their rn program this Friday. Good luck to you on the rest of your journey!

What is HU College of VA Beach?
Found it, I thought maybe Hampton University, but the College part threw me. I had no idea they had a separate college in VA Beach. Very cool! Shucks, I would take HU over TCC any day! Finish up the BSN right out of the gate! Congratulations!
Thank you kelzfuturenurse! When I was a nursing student going thru LPN school I would "lurk" around the site just posting all kinds of post. I was trying to get the feel of what I needed to do, what classes to take and how to go about it. Well 2 years later with going to community college summer, spring and fall semesters non stop to get where I am right now-----GOING TO HAMPTON UNIVERSITY!!!! It's great!I wish you the best of luck in your journey and I know you will get into Riverside's RN program.
Thanks Heathermax! Yes they have a satellite campus across from pembroke mall in Va Bch towncenter. Ofcourse getting my BSN is preferred but I was also looking at the time frame. TCC would only take me 2 semesters to complete (this fall and spring--graduate May 2014 for ADN). HU I would not finish until 2016 due to how they have their program mapped out with my BSN. But right now---its HU LPN-BSN. I committed today and and I'm all set up for the Hesi A2. Good luck to you and your journey to becoming a nurse!
Congratulations!!!!
Thanks graduate2010!
It's official-----I'm in. I received my official acceptance today! I start Sept. 3. How exciting is this. I've waited a long time for this moment and it's finally here.
