Hello all. I have been accepted at Hampton Univ.'s nursing program. I already have a BS and hope to complete the nursing courses I need to get the BSN. Hopefully I can do that in 2 years or less... already have a lot of the prereqs.

Has anyone gone there?? What is your preception of the school? How did you like it, dislike it??

:monkeydance: Thank you! Epona

Congratulations Epona:biggringi

Being that I grew up in this area, I know plenty of people who attended HU and had nothing but good things to say about the education they received.

What do you have a BS in?

Well congrats again :nurse:and good luck

Thank you!! :)

My BS was from JMU and I studied Broadcasting and Biology.

Did your friends find nursing jobs easily??

Oh okay! I have a BA in Journalism/Public Relations :wink2: .

My friends found jobs quickly...a lot of them had Nursing jobs before they

graduated due to the assistance of their professors at HU. It's good to be

in the company of those who not only care about your education but your career as well. I think you are on the right track :monkeydance: good luck again

I am currently in nursing school & so far 3 of my instructors went to HU for their MSN & they all say it was a good school. The only complaint I heard from one of them was that registration & getting your books was a nightmare, but that is probably true most everywhere...LOL

Best of luck to you!

As with any school, you can look at their pass rates for the NCLEX at the website of the state board of nursing. While it is not the only thing I would look at when choosing a school, it is one of the things you should look at.

I was reading this thread because it pertained to HU and I am accepted into their MSN/FNP program to start this Fall. Do you know anything about their graduate nursing program?

Hello all,

I am interested in Hampton's accelerated BSN program. I've looked at their website, however and the only information I have found is the curriculum. Is anyone aware of where I can find the prereqs and admissions criteria?

I just graduated from there. In-less this is something new, I am not aware of an accelerated BSN program there.
