Nightingale college school of nursing

U.S.A. Utah

Published

Hi I am looking into the Nightingale college school of nursing here in Utah and am just wondering if anyone has heard anything about the school or has personal experience about the college? They also have campuses in Colorado.

I graduated from Nightingale College and I am now working at U of U hospital. The college was new when I started and any problems that came up were fixed immediatly and I am extremely happy that I attended.

The school is Nationally accredited through ABHES and is a cadidate for NLNAC. I hear that their final site review is going to happen the first part of this year...go here to read more on their accreditation: http://nightingale.edu/accreditation-and-approvals/. I was able to sit for my boards (passed on the first time!) and got an amazing job which is all that matters.

The price is more than a state college but I have been waiting for 2 years to get in with zero luck. The admissions at Nightingale was easy and this was a huge relief from my experience where they act like they don't want you.

I highly recommend this nursing college to any person looking to be a registered nurse. I got my money's worth and while my friends sit on a waiting list I am working as an RN. What does that tell you?

. .

Run screaming for the hills! The staff at this college are only out for your money. They're all nice and concerned at first but after they've got you they don't care about anything, and have no problem talking to you like dirt.

Minus two two teachers, the rest of them are a joke. One broke down and cried when our class tried to discuss with him some questions we didnt understand on an exam, we also lost two of our classmates to him because he would help them at all.

Another Insturctor searched backpacks and coats that we left in our classroom while we were out on the floor at clinicals. While the dean apologized for that the Instructor said she never would, and still hasn't. So if you do go there don't bring anything personal or valuable with you be used the ethics don't run too high with them.

Clinicals are a joke, you will just be a CNA and even at that there are too many other students and you end up fighting over call bells to change adult diapers...... They had one student vacuum the clinic floors for 45 mins one day, until she refused... $40,000 paid to learn to vacuum floors!!!!! Then we were told that our instructors were our employers and we were the employees.... So we shouldn't question them.

The clinic instructors pretty much sit in the classroom gossiping about the students or playing on their phones and prevent the students from taking their breaks. They won't teach you a thing.

Your second semester you have to travel to clinics hours away, they reimburse one night at a hotel if you share a room, but the problem is you have to be at the site at 0545 for12 hours shift.so if you drive from Ogden and it takes four hours... You either get a room the night before of after.

Not sure about the financial stuff in the other post, but our finance guy disappeared over night and then we lost another classmate because of a mistake the finance guy had made.....

Besides Mrs jero and Mr H no one else at that school with give a hoot about you or your problems.

I could go on for days and I'm only a semester and a half into it.... Just look at this school as too good to be true,no reputable nursing school would t have a wait list, or only cost 40k...

@emilynorth did you end up going to nightingale?

Yeah I did end up going to nightingale. It has it's few problems when I started but like any other new program they got it figured out. It is fully accredited and everyone I graduated with passed they NCLEX the first time and have RN jobs. I would recommend going there.

@emilynorth It is not regionally accredited though, that's what taking me back. I'm planning on moving back to California and get my RN license there. Do you know anyone who went to Nightingale and worked as an RN in California? Are you already doing your BSN also?Sorry for having too many questions. I appreciate your feedback :)
