UTA Fall 2013

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

I thought I would start a thread for those applying to UTA for Fall 2013; AP or on-campus. I will be applying to both and am hoping to find a job at a partnered hospital before the January 5, 2012 deadline.

Well it looks like I was right the first time. BB would not allow me multiple submissions. I would have only changed one answer, but I emailed the coach and told her. Hopefully she changes it for me. I hope this does not keep happening. I don't get why your settings would be different than mine. Weird.[/quote']

That is weird. I was quite surprised when a grade popped up. I think I took mine before you so maybe somehow she noticed what was happening and changed the settings. I retook it several times. I don't know why she would not change back to the normal setting though.

Does anyone know the answer to my question?

This won't be helpful nanerz13 but I am not for sure if UTA will take it. From my personal experience I do know that UTA did not take my TCC pharmacology and I had to retake it at UTA. In addition when applying to SWAU and TCU as backups they told me they would not accept Patho or Pharm I took from UTA last semester because each school wanted me to take their course in order to make sure I was taught appropriately. Even though I provided a syllabus for them to compare neither school would hear it. I know it is very difficult to get a hold of a counselor at UTA but having them confirm the transferring of those courses are the only guarantee. You most likely will need to provide a copies of your syllabus to a person in the nursing department to first be evaluated.

Thank you for your response! It is RIDICULOUS how every school is so stingy about transferring courses. I will just keep calling on Monday until someone tells me. Does the application for UTA cosr money? I really hate paying to apply to colleges lol. Is technical writing a whole semester? And what about the intro to nursing? I read through the threads and was confused how some people were taking a final already in February??? Do you not have to have patho and pharm and technical writing finished prior to applying? The CON website is so vague...

UTA's application does not cost but even if it did remember you are investing in your future so don't let an application fee hinder your education goals.

Once you go through nursing advising then you will be approved to take the courses that are specific for pre-nursing majors. Those courses are condensed courses typically 8-12 weeks that only for pre-nursing students. I'm retaking government and technical writing just to raise my GPA since all my pre-reqs are done and my classes are only 8 weeks. I took pharm and patho last semester. You can apply for nursing with all of your pre-reqs done or they must be all completed before the beginning of the semester you start clinicals. Meaning you could have applied for the Fall 2013 and be in your final semester of pre-reqs this semester. Some students are accepted but its contingent to them passing those courses at the end of the semester. If they fail then they cannot apply that following semester. It's motivation for those accepted on those terms to pass or they get that consequence.

I would advise you to read the UTA spring 2013 forum because it could give you a better understanding of what to expect of UTA's nursing.

Thank you for your response. I am waiting to see if I got accepted into TWU's nursing program. If not, I am looking at UTA as a back-up plan. I see now how that all works. I plan on filling out the application. Good luck to y'all!

According to the UTA CON website, Pharm and Patho must be taken at UTA. Look under "Prerequisite and Lower-Division Courses" and find Pathophysiology. It has a small letter next to it, and the footnote that corresponds to the letter states that it must be taken at UTA. They may make exceptions, though, so I would keep trying to get a hold of your advisor and ask. Good luck.

Advisor emailed me back. Yes, they accept biology 4344 (pathophysiology) from TWU. Yay!

Congrats on that

She told me to get a hold of BB HELP if it happens on the next assignment. It is some sort of glitch. Just my luck!

The suspense is killing me. Anyone else?
