Hey everyone,

Just wanted to start a new thread for those of us applying this May for the Spring 2014 entry into the AP BSN program. I have been working on my prerequisites for the last year and still have about 5 classes left to take. I will also be taking my HESI in May. I am so excited to get the nursing program started, but really nervous as well! I will have to work full time during the program and hope that it will work out. I am currently partnered with Cook Children's. Anyone else out there fixing to apply for Spring 2014 entry?

Me! I'm applying! I took my hesi a month ago. Already have most classes. Now taking tx. Govt. And tech. Writing thru dcccd. Then statistics, then the 3 required pre-nursing classes. Hope I get in the first time around! Still waiting for acceptance of my first application...

I'm not partnered :( Im a dialysis nurse.

I live near Fort Worth. I am currently taking medical terminology, and then this summer I will be taking pharm and Patho. During fall I will have Texas gov., history 2 and statistics. I am currently a Respiratory Therapist. So when you said you are waiting to hear about your first application, do you mean you already applied for the Fall 2013 start?

Hi, I'm applying to Spring 2014. I was just rejected for the fall 2013 class. I'm bummed. But I'm glad you started this group.

I just have Pharm and an english class to finish my prereqs and they start May 20th. I will be bored stiff this fall. Looking for suggestions on how to fill my time.

My stats are:

4.0 GPA for science

3.875 GPA overall

I just took pharm and patho together and got A's in both. Some if the information plays off each other so that helped.

I am also partnered with Cook's, I was wait listed for the fall 2013. I took pharm and patho together this spring and got A's. Patho was easier for me than Pharm but the classes take a lot of studying. Make sure you read the text for pharm, it is very important to the test, but for patho I don't think I read anything from the book just the RRDs. Good luck!

I mean admission to Uta period. I'm not currently an enrolled student there. Have to wait for that before I can apply to the school of nursing.

Sooooo. Does this mean that as an unpartnered applicant, my only clinical choices are Mansfield or Plano? I'd die if I had to go to Mansfield twice weekly.

I believe that is correct unless there aren't enough applicants that are partnered at one of the other hospitals.

I am looking into UTA AP BSN program. My 1st degree is in education. Can anyone suggest the order that I should take for the science and statistics prerequisites. I'm feeling very anxious about the sciences and statistics as I've been reading on these forums that the online classes are very hard and most are saying they had to drop the class. Some have suggested taking Chem I. microbiology via Ocean College Online located in NJ. Can anyone address any of my concerns. I've been out of college for 16 years, so I'm very nervous about going back to school especially since you have to do very well in the sciences/math. I live close to San Antonio. The admissions specialist at UTA said most applicants are applying for the Dallas/Houston Cohorts. They only accept 10 applicants for the SA hospital. I feel like I'm taking a huge gamble. I'm taking a CNA class hoping to get my foot in the door at the SA Cohort so I can get partnered and accepted into the Nursing program.
