RN-BSN online at UTA Arlington

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Published

Hello everyone,

I just started my RN-BSN course at UTA online. The reason I chose this route is because UTA allows you to get into the program while you are still taking pre-requisites. However, I am finding the technical writing class (required), a little difficult and my academic advisor not very helpful. The instructions are not clear and I am feeling a little frustrated. The nursing courses are great, the advisor is very helpful and the instructions are clear. I just wanted to hear from other nurses out here who have been through this course at UTA or who are currently enrolled. Thanks!

I know! Its an introductory math class so it can't too bad, right??? :-) We shall see...

i hope you are all doing well in your classes! 2blessedrn sorry i did not see your post earlier, how did it go for you? i am in art appreciation now and it is going well. so far i have taken technical writing, prof nursing a&b, assessment, texas govt and the art course. i was hoping they would accept a critical care nursing course as an elective, but i just found out they will not since it is a certificate course, not an actual certification. i understand the reasoning, but it dissapoints me!

RNTriathelete, how was the texas government class? I have an A.A. from a community college and i have everything they are asking for except for the 2 government courses, technical writing, and history 2. Would you recommend me taking the courses at UTA, or a local community college? Im just anxious to see if they accept all of my classes! Did they accept most of yours?

They accepted everything that I was expecting. I had to take a few classes, but no surprises. The general Ed courses are eight weeks and can get somewhat tedious. For Texas government we had tests every week plus discussions. It seemed like a lot of work but was not particularly hard. I have almost always doubled up on classes, I work and have children. I took all my missing pre reqs though Uta because it was so darn convenient! The program has problems but so did my non-online ADN program! Good luck with your choice!

I need to take statistics, what's the initial of the professor you had. You can PM me if you wish.

Hi,I will take stat online at el centro during the fall. I decided to not take at Uta because of the price and also after talking to some friends whom stated how hard stats at Uta was.

Hi,

I am looking to apply at UTA to start in November. Can any of you currently in the program or former graduates tell me more about the program? Are tests/quizzes online or would I have to have them proctored? Is there a clinical component? Are there group projects assigned in the nursing courses? Any information you are willing to offer would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you :nurse:

I am in the RN-BSN program through UTA any feedback with nursing research?

I'm researching and considering UT-A for my RN-BSN, along with many other schools. Any information is much appreciated. I am currently leaning more toward UT-A. Thank you!

Hi friends!

I will be starting the RN-BSN online program at UTA in January 2016. I work 40 hours a week as a RN and have a 8 month old son. How doable is this program and what's the recommended course load with my life working Monday-Friday? I have HIST 1312 and both government classes as far as gen eds courses and the rest are the core classes. I know there's no exact answer but any guidance is appreciated. Thanks!

iLOVEbees, when you took stats at uta, were the tests done online as well?
