Holistic Health Assessment

Nursing Students Texas (UTA)

Does anyone have any pointers for this class?? I am struggling with the quizzes... I read the chapters, lectures, and watch the videos and i'm having difficulty finding the answers in the textbook. Also, I have read they are very particular with the health assessments, any pointers for those? Thanks!

Oh! And the assessments are due at 0800 on Thursdays, which is not very conducive to the working student's schedule.

I agree. I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as i'm taking 11 credits in a 5 week period, and working full-time (40 hours a week). I'm doing it next "semester" as well. I just cannot wait for this program to be over... I find the quizzes to be okay as well. A bit ambiguous as you have said. I definitely will not forget to do the COLDSPA... I did everything else great, but forgot that, so I automatically had 25% taken off my grade. How much longer do you have left of the program?

I am also taking 11 credits and working full time and it's starting to wear on me. I am hoping to be done by February or March of next year. I'm so ready. How about you? Fortunately, one of my classes ends on Friday so I will have a little breathing room for a couple of weeks. Then I will take two weeks off and start it all over again. lol

My English class ends Friday and I'm looking forward to having two classes for the next two weeks. Have you taken holistic care of the older adult or vulnerable populations? I read that vulnerable populations is very hard and writing intensive. I also read that co-op is writing intensive blah!! I'm dreading taking all 3 in a few weeks. Don't you feel like all you do is sleep, eat, work, and school? Lol

I will have one week off the first week of August. I haven't had a week off since starting this program in January. It will be nice! I have 4 classes left. I will take my capstone class September 22nd. How are you doing with the classes? Do you think the work load is practical for working RNs?

Holistic Care isn't terrible. You have to do a "life review" interview with an older adult. I had a friend's mom do it. I just had her type answers and email it back. The writing was easy. I haven't taken Vulnerable Populations. I am in Co-Op and it's easy, journaling weekly and a paper at the end. The worst part is asking a supervisor to sign you off on your hours and stuff.

I am taking British Lit, Federal Gov (ugh) and Medical Terminology in August. Have you taken any of these?

Is the Co-Op pass or fail? I'm just wondering if I should stick to these 3 classes in a couple of weeks. I was considering only 2 at a time this "semester". I did 3 together recently and I was TOO busy lol. I didn't have to take British Lit or Medical Terminology because I have a Bachelor of arts degree already and UTA accepted many of my credits. They are 12 classes I need to take for the BSN program. Is the Fed Gov the Texas Politics? I didn't think that class was that bad. Just make sure you print out all the lectures and read through them closely. The test questions rarely came from the textbook. The create your own political campaign took me quite some time to do. I thought the grading was a bit harsh... but oh well. I learned some interesting facts about Texas lol

Federal Gov is different than TX Politics. TX Politics was pretty easy, like you said.

Co-Op is pass/fail. Super easy.

I hated and detested the health assessment class! It took forever to do the assessments and if you missed one word or phrase they counted off.... I didn't like the professor or the coaches.... Vulnerable pop, care of older adult and co op weren't hard... Co op was super easy! Just journaling your work experience for the week.... Graduated with bsn in 2012
