Hi all,

Has anyone traveled to Yuma, AZ for a contract? On the fence about submitting to Yuma Regional and looking for general info. Hospitality to travelers, what the town's like etc. I'd be in the ED. Currently in NE CT but don't want to stay for the winter. 😱

Thanks in advance!

Did you find out anything? I'm thinking about going there in February once my current contract ends. I will be in the ED as well.

I dont know about Yuma particularly but I have heard that AZ is not friendly to travelers and they don't really pay all that well either. That may be why you are not getting replies most travelers don't go to AZ when CA is that close.

Arizona uses a ton of travelers. While I don't know the real numbers, it is probably California, then Florida, then Arizona. For the most part, excepting Flagstaff, I've never understood the attraction of Arizona. I guess some are attracted to deserts as they certainly go to desert areas of California and Nevada. I think the pay in Arizona is competitive, but the traveler hostile policies of the major hospital chain there, Banner, with one call off per week allowed, is certainly discouraging. I've never heard much about a tendency otherwise to be unfriendly.

Maybe it was Nevada I was thinking about...It was one of the dessert states.

Las Vegas is bad for nurses, staff or travelers. Not sure I could pin that rep on the whole state.
