Will I lose my multistate privileges?

I just started travel nursing. My primary residence and where I was first licensed is in Arkansas which is a compact state and I have a multistate license. I am wanting to travel to Florida which is not a compact state and I know I would need to apply for licensure there as well. But another nurse told me that I would lose my multistate license if I applied for a license in a noncompact state. This doesn't seem right to me and I just needed to clarify it with someone who knew for sure. Thanks :)

That's ridiculous. If your home is in Arkansas, that's your home state.

My home state was Arizona (compact). I moved to Utah and switched my residence to Utah (compact). I have worked in Washington, Utah, Minnesota, California, Arizona, Texas, Wisconsin, etc........guess what, I still have a compact license.

Ok thank you so much. I didn't think what she told me sounded right.

Compact privileges have nothing to do with licenses you may hold in non-compact states. It's all about where your permanent residence is.

Your friend is not telling you the truth. My home state is Missouri, and I have licenses in Kansas and California which are not compact states. And I still work in Missouri between assignments.
