Hi guys..i have a question..i am currently looking for a travel assignment but I am talking to different companies and a lot of them say fill out a skills checklist and an application.....lets say i fill out an application and checklist for 3-4 companies...does that mean I have agreed to work with them? I guess my question is can I get in trouble for this? I want to know what shifts and what areas they have assignments but they tell me they will let me know when new positions open up but in the mean time i need to fill out all that stuff for each agency...
can i just tell them i will fill it all out once they tell me about an assignment i may be interested in??
Any help will be great!! thanks.....

You cannot get in trouble for filling out paperwork for multiple companies. Just make sure that for any particular assignment, you are only being submitted for it by ONE of the companies- it is not good to have multiple companies submit your profile to the same hospital. Personally, when I talk to travel companies, I tell them that if they can find an assignment that meets my pay & other requirements, then I will fill out their paperwork- otherwise, it's a waste of my time to fill out all that paperwork. If they won't tell me what assignments they have available unless I fill out all their paperwork, I just won't deal with that company.

no problem except the paperwork. your under no obligation untill you agree to a contract (remember verb agreement is binding). always make copies of everything you send to the agency - they're notorious for losing stuff. many forms like physicals, lab titers, etc can be on a standard (no letterhead) form. keep your work history of the hospitals and contact info up todate - it gets confusing. make a list of questions for the interview. be sure you understand the way everything operates before you say yes, if your recruiter seems alittle coy on specifics - back away!

I agree. There are just too many places out there that openly advertise their positions either on the web or over the phone for you to deal with a company that doesn't. With the web-based ones, you don't even need to register or anything, just view thier assignments and if they're a match, move forward with the paperwork.

This is exactly what I do, as well.
