Hotel Accomadations for Travelers

I am starting a contract at Palmetto General Hospital next week. Since I will be driving from my hometown three hours away, I will only be staying three nights per week. I figured it would be cheaper getting a hotel than renting something, I am taking the stipend. However, I am finding it difficult to find a hotel which will accomadate my night shift schedule, since I am only staying two (days) during the day. Checking in at 0730 day 1 and checking out at 6pm the next day before work. Have anyone had success with a certain hotel during their travels who work night shift. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

i have done this at comfort inns, they have let check in as early as 7 a. They are pretty basic, but for 36 hrs all you really need is a clean bed, a microwave, and a fridge. It works. :)

You might take a look on Craigslist or even better post your own ad. You should be able to find something more comfortable in a private home and probably less expensive. Homeowners love part time house mates! And ones that are only there sleeping while they are at work...

Ive had this trouble for a long time as a night shift traveler and mostly use hotels when I travel. I've never found a hotel which will let you stay past your check out time until 6pm without paying for another night. It's just the perils of the business. If you truly want to save money, you ask around in the unit you are working in when you get there, someone always has a friend of a friend or the employee themselves will come up with something when you dangle 4 or 500 bucks for some rent. That way you can pocket the rest of the stipend. I've used craigslist too, but sometimes feel the urge to sleep with my firearm under my pillow until I get used to the place, and I'm only half joking about that.

Someone you know, a friend of a friend, or finding housing by classifieds (the standard way people find housing) all have the same risks. You are more likely to be shot by someone you know, so that might be the use case for sleeping with a gun.
