Working in Irving , Tx

U.S.A. Texas

Hi everyone,

Any of the nurses working in Baylor Health or Medical City Dallas in Irving, TX? How is commute like? Do you live near the hospital? Where are some good location to live for a family and go to work without traveling too long? I'm planning to relocate to Texas soon and I don't know much. Thanks in advance!

Irving is cental btw Dallas and Fort Worth. Lots of hospitals in and near Irving.

Be sure to buy UnInsured Motorist Insurance due to the large amount of illegal aliens who live there.

Irving is what I would called Ghetto, I would suggest looking north like Plano / Frisco area. In the long run your home value will appreciate a lot more and it would be a lot safer place to live.

Thanks PinayUSA. I've never lived in states before so everything is so new to me. I will look for opportunities in north of Dallas. How much does Uninsured Motorist Insurance cost around?

Also is Webster, TX a better location compared to Irving?

Specializes in retired LTC.

to Pinay - Naïve me. Never heard of Uninsured Motorist Insurance - but it makes sense.

I'm sorry... I'm from Irving. I find all this to be very WRONG.

Anyway - there are just as many "illegal aliens" in any other city around DFW. Also, it is not "Ghetto."

You will find that south irving as well as north irving are very nice places to live. They have redone many areas of Irving in the past few years and are actually expanding many parts of it too!

Hi crossfitnurse,

Thanks for your input! I'm glad to hear it's a nice place. How long do you usually commute from your house to work? Would I need a car right away or is there a bus or metro system?

Irving does have a bus system, but I am not super familiar with how it works.

Depending on where you live compared to the hospital you do work at, you may or may not need a car. Irving is right in the middle of major cities with MANY hospitals ALL OVER. So be sure to look around. You could also work in Irving and easily live in another city. I can make it from Arlington to Irving in 20 minutes no problem! So keep your options open.

Runs for me $50 per 6 months.
