U.S.A. Texas

Published

The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?

I received it about a month ago

Hey everyone! I'm Hazel and I just made an account. My application is complete and there's nothing under the MyStar To Do List. I guess I'm just waiting for something along you guys :nailbiting:. Seems to me from all the posts that UTMB is all over the place. I do know that they conduct interviews as a part of the process (my sisters are both UTMB nursing school alumni and my brother in law applied last fall). I hope they say something soon...

They don't do interviews anymore.

Less of a chance to make myself look like an idiot, YES! Did you call and ask them this? If by chance you did, did you ask how many people they've taken from the waitlist? Last time I checked (last week) they'd only taken 9 people.

I know some people who go to UTMB and they told me that there were no more interviews. Plus no one mentioned getting an interview in the fall 2013 forum so I'm pretty sure they didn't do any for this fall. And no I haven't called :/

How long does it take for UTMB to let you know if you've been accepted or not?

I'm on the waitlist for fall and found that out last month. The waiting process is tough and a long one, but don't give up! Good luck everyone! I know they started sending out acceptances the end of April and May.

Thank you for responding! :) yeah I don't like how they take so long :/ but oh well

I'm applying for the summer. I'm really sad :'( I took my TEAS exam and made an overall score of 58.7 :((((( my science gpa is around a 3.6 and I also will be graduating in December with my bachelors of science in health.

I'm really disappointed that I made such a low teas score.. What do you guys think? :(

Dove 01, you still have time to retake the TEAS. Study a lot: do the TEAS book, flash cards... anything that will help. I know there is a TEAS board on allnurses that could help. Even take a TEAS prep course. Many people I met before I sat down to take the TEAS were retaking due to low grades the first time. You still have time, dont give up!

@dove01 did you buy the ATI study book? I bought mine on amazon but if you buy theirs on the ATI website I think you can purchase it with 2 online practice tests too. The book really helped me a lot. Don't give up!! You can do it!
