UTMB Spring 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

The application process has just gotten under way for UTMB spring admission. Has anyone taken the TEAS tests? Any helpful hints on getting a high score?

Hi Bwilliams. I'm super sorry I haven't been online in a minute. I'm registering to take it on June the 12th. I'm really nervous. I bought the practice exams part A, and scored only 70% on my 1st attempt. I'm going to go tonight and get a TEAS V manual to see if it's anymore help. I think that the Practice tests are great. They really give you an idea of the structure of the questions and how they'll be asked on the actual exam. When are you taking the test???

Did you see that the close date for UTMB spring applications changed from June 15th to July 1?

It's no problem at all! I got an 88 on the TEAS, I think as long as you did well in your science classes you should do well on the science portion on the TEAS. It really wasn't too difficult, I know that I personally have a bad habit of rushing because I'm racing the clock and then I don't thoroughly read the questions or all the answers correctly. So just relax, breathe and take your time! haha (easier said than done!) You have the option of going back to the questions so if I found myself getting hung up on a problem I selected an answer but came back to it later after I cleared my head. Right after the test you get your answers! I wasn't expecting it but afterwards the proctor prints our your results and it has a complete breakdown of how you did in each section, what your score is and how you rank nationally and within the program. Pretty neat!! I haven't submitted my application, I was originally waiting for NursingCAS to receive all of my transcripts but I found out today that I can submit it without my transcripts received by NursingCAS! They just get added later... SO I am just polishing up my personal statement, then I will be submitting it =]

Hey its ok :D I am taking it on June 7th. I am very nervous as well, but I am sure we will do great! Yea I have the online tests and the book. I haven't taken the online test yet. I am in the science section of the book. I need to take the online test to see how well I well I do to see what I need to work on. Did it change? That is great I did not notice that. Good Luck studying. :D

Wow that is an AWESOME score! Congrats!! I am hoping to make a high score as well :D I am glad we get to go back to the questions. That will be my major issue is trying not to rush and relax. It is def. easier said lol I love how we will get to see how we our ranked! Good luck with your personal statement :D

So is UTMB your first choice?

UTMB is definitely my 1st choice, but I've decided to apply to UTHSA-Houston as well.

It changed. I had been looking on their website and before it said 6/15 was the deadline but it changed to 7/1. Greatful for a few extra days. I'm working on my personal statement this weekend, hopefully I'll come up with something awesome. Good luck with yours as well.

Where are you applying??

UTMB is my first choice as well. I am applying to UTHSC, UTHSC-SA and TWU. That is awesome that the deadline is extended! Thanks for letting us know. Good luck with your statement, I am sure you will come up with something awesome. Do you know how many people get accepted for the Spring?

Hi everyone, I'm Ariana and I'm applying for UTMB Spring 2014 !

Hi Ariana,

Where are you in the application process? Have you submitted your app yet? Have you taken the TEAS? If so, do you have any study tips? Welcome to the thread:)

Hey Bwilliams, just wanted to see how things went today with your exam. Said a little prayer for you, hope you did awesome. I am SUPER scared. Gonna study all weekend.

When you have a sec, let us know how it went. Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Hey everyone!

My name is Janice, and I'm also applying to UTMB. I'm taking my TEAS in two weeks, so I'm so nervous!! The nursingcas has received my transcripts, so I'll I need to do is take my TEAS exam, and finish up my personal statement. I'm also applying to TWU and TUHSCSA. I was also thinking of applying to UTHSC in Houston, but it seems very competitive. :(

Any suggestions for the TEAS? I've finished the McGraw Hill and ATI practice tests, but I haven't purchased the online tests yet. I usually get a 85-90% on reading and english, 100% on math, and 70-80% on science. I am so scared!!

I heard that the reading passages are longer than the ones in the practice tests. Hope I don't run out of time. :(

Nice meeting you all! Hope we all get in!
