UTHSC Traditional BSN Spring 2014 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I have seen many threads for previous applicants for past semesters to the UT Houston School of Nursing. I wanted to start one myself as I am applying for the spring 2014 traditional BSN and have yet to find a thread for it. Although I opened it for applicants, I would also encourage previous applicants, current/previous students, and applicants for other semesters at UTHSC to join in and share in this exciting time!

Hello guys! I was just accepted for summer and I was wondering if someone can give an idea of the schedule? I'm trying to figure out daycare for my 9 month old and knowing the times we are required to be there will help a lot.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mze116! I saw from your older posts that UTHSC didn't accept you for Spring 2014 even though all of your stats were close to perfect lol. Did they ever tell you what the issue was with your application? Did they not update your evaluation? Sorry, I just applied for Spring 2015 and I'm nervous lol.

I'm not sure who you were directing your question to but I can tell you, don't stress over what others have made and didn't get in. I didn't get in for the spring 2014 semester but did for the summer 2014. I have seen people getting accepted with the bare minimum required as well as some with "perfect" everything. I had a 3.2 GPA overall, made an 88 on the HESI with a 940 critical thinking score. I didn't think I had a chance! Don't give up!! If you don't get in the first time, keep applying!!! Good luck!!

Congrats!!!! Here ya go! :)

thanks for the info.

UT Houston doesn't make you pay a deposit!

For those that are still waiting, I recommend looking up what vaccines are required for the schools you applied to and get anything that you don't have yet, also get a TB test if you haven't had one in the past year. Get BLS certified if you aren't already.

Also get the flu vaccine - most hospitals require you to have it.

thanks for the info

Hey guys! From the last few threads I've seen from the past few semesters. The transcript eval coming in or not, doesn't seem to have a say in outcome. Some who have got in got 5 evals, and some never got any so I wouldn't stress!! I just got my second one today. And it doesn't have to do with hesi scores being like super competitive because some of y'all have higher hesi scores than me, and y'all haven't gotten an eval and I've gotten two. So don't stress guys! Some people never get one! Just call and make sure they have your stuff updated. I got my first one right after I called in like June making sure they got my hesi scores and first transcript. Like two days after that I got one. And then I sent another transcript last week and didn't even call and I just got my second one today. I say if you really want one to feel better I'd just call and make sure they have your stuff updated! If not I wouldn't stress, not everyone gets one!

Thanks for the info

Hi guys! I'm hoping somebody could give me some insight/advice as far as my hesi scores. I'm applying for the Spring 2016 session and my HESI scores are 82 grammar and reading comprehension, 86 vocab, 88 A&P, 92 math, and 890 CT. Over all is 86%. Currently my nursing gpa is 3.92, and 4.0 sciences. What do you all think? Did anybody get in with those hesi scores? Or should I retake it? Any advice/experiences shared would be awesome!!
