U.S.A. Texas

Hey all,

Just wanted to hear who else on the board is applying for Fall 2007. I've sent everything in and just took the NET test last Saturday. Now the waiting game begins!

Hey all,

I also got an interview letter today. Mine is on the 15th at 2 PM. According to the letter, there will be an actual interview. I know some people had mentioned that UT had done away with the interview in the past few years, but apparently things are going to be different.

Kim- to answer your question, the NET wasn't so bad. The math was very basic fraction, decimal, percentage conversions and whatnot. Science reading comprehension wasn't bad either. THe test-taking skills was a load of crap. The stress profile was very straightforward. The part that blindsided me was the science section. It was 15 of the most random, detailed questions ever. Sure, I knew a few off the top of my head-- but the rest I wasn't so sure about.

I'm looking forward to the interview. What to wear?!?! Eeep!

I took the NET and agree with your description of it. I was disappointed in my scores; however, it seems I'm in a high percentile, so I won't complain. I had my interview today. Now the wait begins. Last I heard, there will be a mailing in April. Good luck everyone!

Well, I finished the interview and it went well. I was told a decision would be made in 2-4 weeks. Good luck everyone!

Does anyone know which sections of the NET test UT looks for? (just wondering since TWU looks for science reading only)

Is getting an interview part of the regular nursing process or have you just made it to the second round? I have an interview next week and I am very nervous? I have 3.8 gpa on sciences and a 3.4 gpa on my undergraduate? But my NET scores were not to good and I do not have volunteer work or any healthcare experience. How many people do they accepted into the program per semester, I applying for fall 2007. What else do they look at for the acceptance into the program?

I can't answer your questions with any certainty, but I believe the interview process is the 2nd phase from what I understand. I know for sure they picked out 450 to interview and when I went it looked like interviews were done in alphabetical order so if you last name is closer to the end of the alphabet you get an interview later. They admit about 120 students. Over 1,000 applied but the 450 interviewed are the ones being considered for the 120 spots. I'm not sure what they look at other than GPA, NET, and interview. I hope this clarified a little. I'm pretty much in the same boat as far as not knowing much!

Hi Guys! I'm a 2007 hopeful too. Have applied to Blinn for the summer mobility track and Austin Comm. College (ACC) mobility track for the fall. I am scheduled to take the NET this month and am terrified about the math portion. Is it hard---someone please help!

Thanks!

So how was your interview and what type of questions did they ask you? So, probably out of the 120 spots, there will probably only be about 30 males picked based on the percent of males applying. I was just wondering because I am a male student.

I am not good at math and did not do too good on my NET. There was fractions, percent, and decimals.

My interview is this Friday, the 9th. Can anyone give me any pointers on what to expect? I've never had an interview before and I dont have any pre-nursing friends that can give me any insight on this topic. How much does the interview count toward their decision of either to accept you or not? Do they ask you if you have any questions at the end of the interview? Is the interview on a personal basis? I would be SO grateful if someone could reply to this. I am a nervous wreck.
