Okay so I went online and checked the price of the book packages. The two that had prices totaled about $1200 and the third one hadn't yet been priced. They mentioned books were about $2000 so is it safe to assume we are paying for all books the first semester?

Has anyone every used the emergency book loan? How does it work?

You do buy the majority of the books in the first semester. You will use most of them through the entire program. There are a few more each semester to buy. I think 4-6 in second semester, and 2-4 in third semester.

However, their estimate of book costs didn't include extra study material, which you will find mighty helpful to have. I do think I spent close to 2,800-3,000 with all the extra study guides (found on my own or from other classmates, not required by school), and NCLEX books along the way. It's never too early to start to think about NCLEX. So, I suggest getting an NCLEX book when you start. Many of us used Saunders, and thought it was really good. Kaplan also makes really good NCLEX review books.

Yes and No. The Dean called to say that I was "conditionally" accepted. However I had to wait until the week of orientation to be confirmed. I was accepted to another program (that has orientation next week) and money for uniform and supplies is going to be due. I didn't want to take a chance and say yes to UHV, and decline the other offer. She said that there were some students that have not received there Blue Card yet, and that they needed to be in by the start of class. She was also waiting on a report from the BON, to confirm who can proceed.

Anyway, I thought what if UHV says NO at the last minute? It was way too risky. Things happen for a reason and I think the route that I've chosen is what's best.
