Have you guys started your reading assignments yet???? What is the strategy to this much reading in a day/week?????

I haven't started yet because I haven't received the books with the reading assignments yet. I should get most of them later this week & the last of them next week. As soon as I get them I am gonna start reading. I guess we will need to just take it one day at a time & make sure we stay current on the assignments. For myself I can read/study for a few hours & then have to do something for awhile, regroup, & then get back to it. After about 3 hours of reading my mind starts to wander and I stop retaining info, lol Everyone learns & studies differently so just gotta figure out what works best for you.

@Nbrown82- The reading assignments were sent in your school email from Dean Tart on Dec. 26. There is a LOT to read.......so you may want to get started with the books you do have.

@CookieTL Yea I got the list of what has been assigned thus far. At orientation they are supposed to give us more assigned chapters. I will definitely get started next week. I'm moving tomorrow so once I get my new place set up & study area together I am on it, lol

I picked up my book last week and have started reading and it's ALOT. I've read Chapters 1-3 in the pharmacology book and Chapters 3 and 11 in the Foundations book. I try to work on a chapter a day and I outline the chapters as I go. I agree with Nbrown82 about needing a break every couple of hours. It all starts to blur together.....

I am finding the pharmacology book to be an easry read. The foundations of nursing book was a little dry (talked about how to be a critical thinker) but chapter 11 over assessments was much better.

I hope to be done with the readings orientations but I am going to have to double up to catch up.

Has an official list of books for the semester been released or are we supposed to wait until orientation to here about the book packages? They are sold together, right? Are they currently available for purchase in the bookstore on the Sugar Land campus? I did receive the email about the reading list, but I'm still a little confused. :)

Silvertab09 , the books are in bundles and can be purchased at the bookstore now. I paid $1400 for them. The official list is in your campus email.

Thanks, CookieTL! Did anyone else have trouble opening the orientation agenda attachment that was sent in the campus email on Dec. 20th? For some reason, that attachment doesn't open correctly for me.

Silvertab09, I did have trouble. Most importantly, we have to be there at 745a. Same place as the interview until about 230p. They are providing lunch and all required documentation is required prior to admission. Immunization form, blue card or letter, etc.....Hope that helps!:)

Thanks again for the info, CookieTL...I thought I was the only one having that email attachment issue!
