TWU Fall 2013 Applicants

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

Or does the accelerated program also start in Fall??? Sorry for the questions I just don't really understand why they have two different programs if the only difference in time is 1 month?

How do you guys know what program you were accepted into?

I thought I read somewhere on another forum here that if your email said you were accepted for Fall 2013 your pacesetter, and if it said Summer 2013 your accelerated. I don't know for sure though. I have not received a letter in the mail yet. That might say for sure. I am just trying to figure it out so I can make my decision accurately by April 1!

Yeah that's weird it did not specify in my email... I emailed but the person that responded didn't really answer my question haha

Well I know I applied to the traditional program. And my acceptance email starts in the fall of 2013, in August. They have 4 consecutive semesters so you would go fall, spring, summer, then fall. (I was not aware of this at first. And you can tell how confused I was on the other forum lol)

I think certain people are selected from the traditional program to do the pacesetter program.

The accelerated program Starts in the summer.

Yeah I wish they would have specified which people were placed in traditional and which were placed in pacesetter... I really don't like how the pacesetter is set up so that would make me feel better turning it down for UTMB lol

Congrats on admission !

Do you work 40 hrs a week ? I'm really debating on the weekend program or traditional. My undergrad is in International Business, so I have no health/science-related experience.

I work full time, yes. My undergrad is in Sociology, and I have an MBA, so I did have to take the prereqs at a community college. They were thorough, and tough, but I made sure to go at a decent pace so neither my grades nor my work suffered. I can't not work - I like my house and feeding my kids too much.

Exactly! I haven't heard back from any other schools yet, but if I had to make a decision between being in the pacesetter at UTHSC or the normal program at TWU I think I would choose TWU. The pacesetter program sounds like more work to me. But if I was in accelerated (which I guess is what they consider 'normal') I might have a harder time deciding. Maybe I could just call and ask what program I am in?

Also, on yalls to-do list for UTHSC it is saying for me that i need proof of a prior BS degree and my hesi scores? I dont know why it would say proof of a prior Bachelors degree?

mzipper- I would try calling, email got me nowhere haha

Yes mine says that too! I really dislike the layout of myUTH. I use a macbook pro and not everything loads correctly. And sometimes I have to try to login 3 or 4 times because oracle error pops up. 1- point for UTHSC lol.

And I think I will try calling!

Haha, yeah mine does the same thing! Let me know if you find anything out about the weird holds! :)

Lol I actually just called about that. They transferred me to the registrars and they removed it for me.

Ok sorry for blowing up this thread lol. So I called again because they are actually answering. They said we will find out if we in the pacesetter program closer to July. Only a select amount of people are in it 25-30. But yeah that does kinda suck not knowing up front..
