Hello everyone!

I am starting this thread... a year early. That is how much I want to be accepted into the Fall 2013 BSN program at TWU in Dallas. I am taking my TEAS on August 30 so that if I have to, I can take it again the following application period (after September 1). I have finished my prerequisites (last week of Summer AP2 right now, hurray).

I hope other people see this forum so that we can all talk and encourage each other about getting into the program (and be stressed out together)! Seriously hoping that this next year flies by! I Look forward to get to know other hopefuls!

I talked to an advisor on Friday. She looked up someone with very similar stats as mine that was accepted for the Spring, and that person was last on the accepted list! EEk.

I think I'm going to take the TEAS V again.

We can retake the TEAS? How was it, I heard it was harder than the HESI

You can only retake it if you took it the first time before the September 1 application deadline. Basically, once per application period. They were saying at the information session if you take it again, they take the most recent score, even if it is lower. But if you take it again within the same application period, they are just going to keep your first score. I have not taken the HESI, but from what I hear, that is the easiest of the pre-entrance nursing exams. I did not find the TEAS to be difficult, I think the anxiety of taking it just builds and you make it out to more than it really is. Just study for maybe one to two weeks beforehand, take a deep breathe and you'll be fine. ;)

I concur. Wasn't the Dallas campus just awesome? I felt like I belonged there.

Okay, so I don't know why I did this... but I just registered for Pathophysiology in Dallas for the Spring! EEEEEEEK!!! I'd rather take it in Denton, because I live so much closer, but Monday (one day a week) would work better because of my 11 month old.

I'm also taking online quantitative literacy in the Spring (blehhh???).

And I'm also looking for a job as a CNA so if any of you future students know of ANYWHERE that is hiring PART-TIME (if it's a nursing home) or FULL-TIME (in a hospital), please let me know!!

I was just curious how you registered for Patho for Spring? I searched for Patho class in the Houston campus, but it says that the persmission is required to take this course.

I think at Houston it is only offered online (2nd degree students) and so you must have permission. Call your adviser and ask.

Does anyone know if you can submit your application via NursingCAS without them receiving your official transcripts yet? I entered all my classes in manually. Or is that a no-no! lol

You can apply to the CON how ever you want as long as everything is done by the deadline.

For instance: I could apply now (my transcripts from NCTC aren't ready yet); pay the money; take the TEAS V in January and then send in my transcripts. And change that around however you want. It needs to be done by February 1. Safer to do it sooner.

Of course if you are NOT a student at TWU yet, you would need to apply to TWU first.

Do you mean pay the money for the TEAS test?

I heard the ATI study guide was the best but it probably wouldn't hurt to study from a variety.

I'm nervous how that works out, if my transcript hasn't been received but I'm assuming they will verify the grades I've entered manually with the transcripts.

No, I did not mean pay money for the TEAS test. You pay that through ATI and schedule the test date through PSI - that has nothing to do with what order you apply for the nursing program.

I meant pay the $30 application fee to the college of nursing to process your application.
