Would like to hear from all the GN/RN's that took residency/internship in Texas. I would like to know where you went and how well you liked the program? I am trying to track down where seems to have the most GN friendly and most educational residency programs available.

Thank you for any information. :nurse:

Hi! I just started. an ICU internship at Scott and White. So far I am so impressed. Def will be a challenge but so worth it. The amount of education available here is amazing. They have many other internships available too in other areas.

The CCNE has started a program where hospitals can get their residency programs accredited. It just recently came out, so no one has accreditation yet, but I think any program that is working on being accredited would be a good program. In order to get the accreditation, it has to be an actual residency program and not just a unit orientation that they call a residency. So just ask the hospitals that you're interested in if they are working on it.

My husband and I also got offers at baylor and texas health and they both had 4 month internships as well. Most programs that are residency or internships are months in duration depending on what dept.

I did mine a few years ago at St. Joseph's in Houston.
