TEXAS NEW GRAD RN

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello! Any idea if much is the payscale (per hour) of new grad RN in Texas? Thank you.?

Depends on where in Texas. For the acute care setting in DFW the going rate is about $25/hr.

According to other posts I've read on AN, LTACS, rehabs, PD, etc pay more than acute care (major hospitals). I work PRN for a Home Health Agency and I can contest that they do in fact pay better than the major hospital system I work for. I'm just getting my obligatory one year of acute care experience in and then I plan on moving elsewhere to make more money.

Pay rates vary wildly, depending on the part of Texas. Pay could be as low as $19 to $20 per hour in Abilene, or as high as $27/hour in Houston area hospital systems.

@TheCommuter, Abilene offered $21 4 years ago when I graduated as a new RN. Scary if they're going backwards...
