Temple College vs Central Texas College

U.S.A. Texas

Does anybody know anything about these two programs Temple College vs Central Texas College)? I am new to the area (about 2 months) and have been accepted to both programs. But since I don't know much about the reputations of either, I'm not sure which to decline. Assuming tutition isn't an issue, any ideas?

Thanks so much! ~Steph~

that's what I was afraid of... I hate the elastic top pants! Yea, they are using Landau b/c when I stopped by the Uniform Place, she had the paperwork from the school telling her exactly what we'll need. I wasn't going to buy anything, just wanted to stop in since I was in the area, b/c I didn't know we could only buy the brand they specified...I was going to try on some Dickies.

Do most people wear scrubs on non-clinical days?

And what about shoes...I'm sure they have to be solid white, but can I wear Nikes, assuming they're all white.

I hate that the orientation isn't for another 5 weeks....I have so many questions!

Yea the scrubs are really aweful but you get used to them. As far as shoes go, they usually want you to get specifically "nursing shoes" and didn't allow crocs but towards the end my teachers got pretty easy going and allowed us to wear crocs that didn't have the holes on the top. The majority of the year I wore nursemates but a few people wore white tennis shoes. The catch is that they can't have any other coloring. What some girls did was take their shoes to their teachers and asked if they were ok to wear. If not then they would return them. Temple College is usually pretty strict on how they want you to look because your a professional now and they want the school to stand out. You can't have artificial nails, no nail polish they have to be short, hair pulled back, no piercings except for small studs in your ears. On regular class days some girls wore scrubs, not alot of girls you usually just wear your normal clothes.

Hi,

I live out of state, but would love to get accepted into any ADN program. CTC seems reasonable as far as tuition. Does CTC require the usual prereqs that other nursing schools require? From looking at the course schedule it looks like you go right into a nursing course, A&P 1 and an English course. Does anyone know?
