Temple College ADN/LVN 2014

U.S.A. Texas

I noticed that there has not been a 2014 topic started yet for the Temple College nursing programs. I am getting nervous and want to know if there is anyone out there applying for the same year I am. I will be applying for the ADN and LVN program. So far I have all my pre and co-requisites completed with a 3.76 GPA. I will be taking my hesi test this October, and I also live IN-district. I am nervous and losing sleep over whether or not my scores will be good enough!

I got into both the LVN and RN program this year. I start the ADN program Monday and I'm so excited! I scored well on my HESI, got the in district point etc. The two programs do have different scoring processes. The ADN is heavily weighted on your GPA, but ONLY for the classes that apply towards their program. (A&P I&II, Micro, Pysc, lifespan, engl. ETC) Apply early to the LVN program, because if there is any sort of tie breaker they go by who applied first. Focus on ratios for the HESI there were a LOT of ratios, percentages, fractions, etc. It's all pretty basic math, but you tend to forget the simple stuff after not using it for a while. Buy the study guide for the HESI. I have one you can have if you want. You cannot use a calculator. Good Luck!!! ;)

Another note...Get started with your BON clearance. Like now. It can be a LONG process and the BON won't rush or expedite, at all, for anyone. They are on their own time frame, and you have to have BON clearance to start. This was the first year that Temple did the BON clearance and they had lots of issues with getting people through in time. Luckily I had already done mine when I had planned to start another program before relocating to Temple. This is no joke, I can't imagine being accepted in the program and then not being able to start because of this issue.

I applied yesterday to the LVN program for 2014-2015 year. I wanted to apply for the ADN as well but chose not too as I have two small children and for me as mom, baby steps toward my one day BSN was the route I chose to go. I actually posted a thread I believe under pre nursing student asking if anyone is or has applied to TC for the LVN program as well for 2014. So I am excited at this point i am not the only one on here going to Temple haha :D

Does anyone know if there's a nursing application fee?

Hello ladies this will be my second time applying for the LVN program. I used my HESI score of an 89 from last year and i have both classes (2 points) I am out of district though.... I also already have my BON clearance since i made the wait list last year. I hope this is the year! GOOD LUCK LADIES

no there is not

I graduated from the LVN program from TC in 2008. Ill be applying for the bridge here in January. I am so nervous.

Good luck to all of yall! My best friend applied to LVN last year, got waitlisted, but got a spot the week before class started. She got super lucky.

Best advice I can give is to do awesome on your Hesi test! When I got into the program back in 2007, they said they really dont look at many people that get below a 90. The LVN program wasn't too much based on GPA, but they liked high Hesi tests.

The ADN program is mostly about GPA.

Anyway, good luck to everyone applying!!!! :) Hopefully we will all see each other in the halls next year! :)

Thanks!fingers crossed bc i made an 89!!! I went through the agony of waiting last year so im not as worried like last year, but i do wish feb would hurry up!

Hey everyone. Cocoacouture, I also made an 89 on my Hesi. I just finished the semester with both A's and all I am missing is AP2 (which I am registered for ). I am planning on retaking it for the ADN for sure. When I applied for the LVN, the lady said that I had a really good score (fingers crossed). I can't wait to see all of you next year!

Congrats! Rowley91, Im hoping this is the year.. who are you taking for AP2

I am taking Hicks over at the Taylor campus
