If you really hate it, move on. Maybe the patients don't sense it yet, but it's only a matter of time before leaks through into your patient care. If you want to stay in psych maybe you should try a new area, like peds. (Just an example) Either way, you're going to have to understand that no matter where you end up there are going to be patients that take advantage. Psych needs great nurses, but that population is very difficult and taxing to work with. I think it's great that you've recognized your feelings just make a change before you become completely burnt out.

Summer do they really send denial emails? I had no idea they did. Remember waiting for our letters. It was torture!

Another note...Get started with your BON clearance. Like now. It can be a LONG process and the BON won't rush or expedite, at all, for anyone. They are on their own time frame, and you have to have BON clearance to start. This was the first year that Temple did the BON clearance and they had lots of issues with getting people through in time. Luckily I had already done mine when I had planned to start another program before relocating to Temple. This is no joke, I can't imagine being accepted in the program and then not being able to start because of this issue.

I got into both the LVN and RN program this year. I start the ADN program Monday and I'm so excited! I scored well on my HESI, got the in district point etc. The two programs do have different scoring processes. The ADN is heavily weighted on your GPA, but ONLY for the classes that apply towards their program. (A&P I&II, Micro, Pysc, lifespan, engl. ETC) Apply early to the LVN program, because if there is any sort of tie breaker they go by who applied first. Focus on ratios for the HESI there were a LOT of ratios, percentages, fractions, etc. It's all pretty basic math, but you tend to forget the simple stuff after not using it for a while. Buy the study guide for the HESI. I have one you can have if you want. You cannot use a calculator. Good Luck!!!

Hi! Just saw your post! Guess we will be starting class on Monday! I'm so excited. I was in the H group by the way. Did you get all your books, uniforms, etc? I've only ordered about a 1/3 of my books. Hoping that I can wait until next semester for a few of them because holy smokes its a lot of money!

@studynowsleeplater I got accepted to the ADN program and I wil also be inTemple. Would love to get together before it starts. Do you have anything in mind or a tIme that works for you? I was accepted to the LVN program first so until I found out about the AdN I was expecting to start today. Now I have all summer! So ready to get going, can't wait until orientation!!! Did you already take care of your BON check? Not sure if they had the alternates get ready to start then wait or how they did it. Also the deadline to order the nurses pack is June 4th for the LVN program. The letters should be here tomorrow I would think so we can know for certain.

I'm freaking out over here. I really need the letter today! Otherwise I'm set to start the LVN program Monday and I'm worried I won't have enough time to get out of my classes in LVN if I am accepted. I'm excited either way, I just want to know for sure what direction I'm going.

My GPA had a huge improvement as well and my HESI score increased slightly. All good things. Hope it's enough for both of us! Good luck to you too!

****** just called me to ask which program I would prefer a position in since I was accepted to the LVN program. I'm really hoping this is a good sign!! However she ended the conversation by saying that the letters would be sent out sometime next week. I hope the anticipation doesn't kill me until then. I was hoping this week based on when I received my letter last year.

Last year I applied to the ADN program and my letter was dated may 23 so I'm really hoping we get them by this weekend!
