Helloooooo everyone! this is my second posting, I figured I should be more specific with my Title, maybe it'll attract others. I'm so excited for the program and I'm just looking for some insight, advice, what to expect etc. I'm also interested in talking with those who are already in the program, has applied for Spring 2012, or has already completed it. I'm very excited to start the program. I found out about the LVN program on the 21st and went in and got my application asap. I have all my documents in now and plan on turning in my app this Tuesday. I would really love to converse and learn as much as I can about what to expect and how to prepare. It took me a while, trying to figure out which program to go with. If I should go take the ADN at San Antonio College, or just go straight to my bsn at uthsc. But I've decided to do the lvn then go to my bsn once I'm done. I look forward to hearing from you all and goodluck to those applying for the spring! God bless:nurse:

I got accepted! But not sure if I'll be going.

Is there anyone here that will be going!!!!!?

mrs scallion/rhoades congratulations on graduating!

I got accepted and will be starting the LVN program Jan 17. Hope to have you as a classmate.

finally!! someone! :) have you began getting your books?

no... i havent started yet. I plan to before the year is up though. That list of books is EXTREMELY long! Have you started getting yours?

No I haven't. I began looking around for prices, I think my books totaled up to 900$ I'm waiting for my financial aid to come in. Have u started buying scrubs?excited?

Yeah, I got those prices too. And yes ME TOO! I soooo need financial aid. lol. I have a few scrub sets from when I did the CNA program at St Philips. But I need new ones. They have nice, cheap ones at Garden Ridge. And the tops and bottoms are only $6 a piece. Im REALLY excited. I have been trying to do this forever. Im thrilled its finally happening. My sister (mrsfuturerhoades) just graduated. How are you feeling about it!?

Lol. Yea i took out a living expense loan. And I'm waiting to be awarded. Oh ok. Cool so you're ahead of the game. You know quite a few things. That's good. Oh ok at least I know of a place now. I'm in my hometown so I was gonna buy some up here since they're affordable. That's great. I'm excited can't believe its happening. I'm just so excited to learn and become a nurse.

yeah..just a little. i've been in healthcare off and on since 2007. And yeah... I can't believe it either. Like, I know it's happening but I guess it's still a little surreal. Nursing school HERE WE COME!

oh ok. It is surreal. These next 12 months will fly by. I'm going for my rn after, i wonder how different it'll be. I cant believe I'll be the nurse instead of the patient lol

Yeah - my sister said the same thing. it flew by. Yeah and me as well. I just don't know if I'll go AS RN or BSN. Im not too far away from the BSN. We'll see though.
