Hi! Could you (or anyone else who might have the answer) tell me if Good Shepherd requires a contract/work commitment for new grads getting into the internship programs? I was looking at their careers webpage and noticed that the OB internship has a work commitment but the others do not have that listed. Was wondering if the commitment applied to all the units and that info was just not included.Thank you!
Thank you!
I think HR will have a better answer for u. I actually received a call from them yesterday and today to offer me the internship but i had to decline because i just got another internship yesterday in the DFW which i start Monday i already gave up on hospitals but a miracle happened for me yesterday for those stll looking dont give up.

Congratulations SheilaORN!!! I'm so happy for you. It's good to see that there's still hope. Thanks so much for responding to my question. I thought about calling HR but I figured I'd check here first. The forum is less intimidating lol.
BTW: The internship they offered you was for January?

Good thread!
I'm in North New Jersey. The job market for new grads is just as terrible as one can think.
I still do not have a job 4 months past graduation. Some of my classmates, even worse, one has been an LPN for many years. Now she has RN license, she still works as a LPN, since her facility do not have any opening for RN, and she could not get another job outside either.
I'm doing the exact work as many years ago, as if all years working and RN license had never happened. Today I finally applied for a Texas License. Spent 200 bucks out of my own pocket. Hopefully can get some kind of RN job in the hospital, even some kind internship will be very good for me.

If you're willing to move to AR, there are several hospitals that will hire new grads. You cannot have bad references, flagged licenses, gaps in employment (that can't be justified), so just be aware of that. Try these two that are in Jonesboro, AR (close to Memphis TN):

I've heard the Little Rock hospitals were flooded with new grad applicants from May, so they may not be hiring right now, but I bet it will pick up again in the Spring. Good luck!

I'm pretty sure the work commitiment only applies if you take a sign-on and/or relocation bonus. We are a pretty good place to work at. PM me if you have any questions. I've been at GSMC for a little over 3 years.
Good luck....

Hello! I'm interested on applying for graduate nurse internship at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Do you know when they start accepting applications for January internship? By the way, I'm graduating this coming December.
