Medical City Hospital Dallas Internship July 2013

U.S.A. Texas

I'm inquiring if others have applied to the internship at Medical City Hospital in Dallas for July 2013. I just applied a few days ago and wanted to see if anyone knew how competitive they are or how many people they plan to accept? I would love any addition information on the internship, as I haven't had the opportunity to speak with HR. I'd love to hear about everyones experience or updates on their current application status!

Specializes in Pediatric ICU.

I interviewed for the NICU last year during this time.... and t

here were 6 of us. They divided us into two groups. My group interviewed with staff nurses first. They asked us three questions but like went down the row one by one to see what your answer was to each. Then the groups switched and we went and interviewed with like the educator and other mgmt. Then we got a tour of the unit. They said they had one more group to interview & they called with the offer at the end of the week.

thank you so much kellyleigh!

So you had to answer a total of like 6 questions? were they difficult or straightforward if you don't mind me asking? and are you now working on the unit?!

Thanks again, I'm very nervous for tomorrow

Yeah about 6-8. They were pretty straight forward. They asked why you want to work there, most difficult decision you've ever had to make, tell me about a time... etc. and they make notes and score you right in front of you so it's kind of intimidating.

I actually decided to go work at Children's instead but it was a tough decision!

how long until after Medical City offer did you hear from Children's?

How were the interviews?

Has anyone heard anything from other departments? I applied for L&D

I applied to NICU and haven't heard anything...this is becoming real frustrating...I've emailed the recruiter only to get no response back. Should I just assume I'm not a potential candidate?? I wonder what the expected timeline is...when can i confidently assume I've been rejected and place my hopes elsewhere...the end of the week? month? Those of you who have had interviews there, did recruiter/manager mention any dates? Like "we will make our decision at the end of the week", etc.

I applied to nicu. I emailed the recruiter and no reply either. Frustrating indeed.

Same here. I emailed and called the recruiter and no response either :(

@sarita10

How was the interview? Did you feel like you had competition? When will you know if you got the job?

Interview went well, I felt prepared but a little intimidating. There were six of us and three spots open for the internship. I know that one person is already a nurse at medical city but wants to switch into NICU and I'm pretty sure there was another person who was also a nurse at medical city but she wasn't in my group interview so I don't know for sure. So that leads me to believe that they will get two of the spots, which leaves one spot.... so I have no idea how its going to turn out. I should hear by the end of this week or next, I'll keep you posted!
