LVN pay at Houston hospitals

Not sure which hospitals are still hiring LVNS, but Memorial Hermann TMC doesn't. I think Memorial Hermann Southwest still does.

Thanks for the reply, earthcrosser. She is hoping that she can work as an LVN in a hospital setting and then get her RN. She wants to be a hospital nurse rather than a Nursing Home nurse and I am trying to get an idea of what she faces.

She's honestly better off getting her ADN at a community college if cost is the issue. A BSN would open more doors in this economy, but if she is wanting to work in a hospital setting, getting her LVN could work against her a bit in that matter.

I love the LVNs I work with - they are fantastic and deserve tons of credit for being awesome nurses, but the truth of the matter is, it's very competitive to get a hospital job and some hospitals are working to phase out LVNs. Sad and unfair, but true.

Thank yall. I am posting all over the place on this forum. I'm trying to get a handle on things. Both my 26 yr old daughter and my 21 year old nephew are wanting to go into nursing and I am trying to find out what I can for them.
