Thanks for explaining. I hate the TPAPN idea so much I could scream! I just don't understand why I have to be in some program where I have to call each morning and ask if this is my day for a UA...for 2 years! And pay for it! I never went to work drunk or high or hungover and I certainly never stole narcotics. Others on here have pat answers that make it somehow seem ok that Bipolars are classified with substance abusers but I am sorry, I hate it, resent it, and it does not seem appropriate.

Ok, I am actually back here to ask another question about Lone Star LVN program. I have looked all over their website and cannot find the curriculum or pre-reqs or anything about an LVN program. Am I missing something? :uhoh3:We are mainly interested in the Cy-Fair location because of transportation. Thanks :)

Speech therapy since childhood, it is not something that speech therapy can help as it is in the brain s/p meds given to his mom during pregnancy. He is trying to get into the service and have them pay for his education. He was turned down by one branch and is trying another. He is tenacious and a go-getter. He is taking online courses now.

coladot. so you are in Texas? And with Biploar Disorder you did not have to do TPAPN? How did you get around it? because I am very upset by the thought of having to go through it. I have gone to every docor appt. scheduled, every 4-8 weeks for 12 years. I take my meds, I have the same pdoc and I am stable. Why should I have to make a phone call every morning to see if it is my day for a UA?

What about the Americans with Disabilities Act? http://www.ada.gov/cguide.htm#anchor62335 Are we required to tell future employers upfront about a disability if we are stable? Does anyone know how that works? I don't want to tell it. Because I am in Texas, I will have to be in TPAPN for 2 years because I am Bipolar. TPAPN Texas Nurses Association: AFIL TPAPN home
