Anyone applying?

did you verify the address they sent it to? it could be that they do not have your correct address. Someone else said that there was a mix up with an address from another student.

yeah I verified it. I'm starting to think the post office lost the card since its so small ..lol seriously if tx bon know the card is so small why can't they just send it in an envelope? anyways I'm going to pray that the second one arrives safely.

Did you guys already receive an email with information about the orientation at CyFair? (location and time). I haven't received anything from Ms. Anderson since Nov 15. The last email I got from her was a reminder to take the TOEFL. I didn't get the email with the information about the change of the deadline to Dec. 2nd, so I'm starting to think that I wont be getting her emails anymore. I emailed her yesterday asking her about why I'm not getting any emails but she haven't replied yet :(

Just called the txbon today to ask about my blue card because I did my fingerprint on Nov 7th and I haven't gotten it yet. They never received my fingerprints... they will try to retrieve them, but if they're not able to do so, then I'll have to do the fingerprints again. Even if they do retrieve them, I will never get my blue card before the end of next week...

I just wanna die... :bluecry1::madface:

I could be wrong but I think I remember reading somewhere that there are locations where you can get fingerprinted electronically.

This website explains that you can get fingerprinted electronically http://www.bon.texas.gov/olv/examination.html

This is the page where you find a location closest to you http://www.l1enrollment.com/locations/?st=tx

@WARNstudent I did my fingerprints electronically at a FAST agency in Katy, TX. I have no idea what happened to them. I just called the FAST toll-free number and they say they did send the fingerprints to the board of nursing. At this point I don't know who's telling me the truth or not. They said they will call the BON today to figure out why they say they never received my fingerprints. The thing is that even if they solve their problems and retrieve my fingerprints, there's no chance I'll get my blue card before Dec. 2nd....

This is not my fault. I hope the Nursing department understands this situation and don't forfeit my position in the program because of this. I already have all my paperwork ready to be submitted... the blue card is the only thing I'm missing.

I emailed ms.anderson about that she told me as long as we are in the fingerprint list that tx bon has then we are safe. You can email her if you want detailed info. tx bon will send the list to the nursing department and they'll go through the list and weed out people who are not in the list and not turned in their blue card.

@Flylikeabird Thanks a lot for this information. I already sent her an email yesterday asking about info regarding the orientation. She haven't replied me yet so I'm not sure if I should email her again. When I called bon the lady was able to find my name in the computer, but obviously they haven't sent any blue card since according to her they never received my fingerprints. I hope that means that I'm in their list, so I'm safe. I think I'll talk personally to Ms. Anderson on Monday to let her know about the whole situation and to figure out if I'm in the list so they can wait til I get the blue card after the deadline.

Update: Just called bon again to know if I am in the list or not. I'm not because they haven't received my fingerprints. Only after they get my fingerprints and see that I have a clear background check then I will be placed in the list. The process of retrieving my fingerprints can be as long as 10 business days. I'll talk to Ms. Anderson on Monday anyways... but since any of this is my fault then I hope they keep me in the program even if they don't retrieve my fingerprints before Dec 2nd or if I have to do them again :sniff:

Did anyone have to get a second blue card mailed out? I have to call Monday so I can get another one it has been 10 business days since the first was sent and I never received it...

can anyone from cy fair please tell me the list of homework Ms.Haegle said today at the orientation? the slide was too blurry and she talked too fast for me to write down everything...

also do we need to wear scrubs (single color both top and bottom) for the lecture as well? or is this just for the lab?

@Flylikeabird Here is the homework:

RNSG 1209:

*Read Chitty: Ch. 1-3, 5-7, and 14-16

*Download and read: http://www.bne.state.tx.us

RNSG 1115:

*Read Weber & Kelly: Ch. 1-6 and 9-12

*Read Taylor: Ch. Nurse as a communicator

RNSG 1105:

*Read Taylor: Ch. 21, 26, 27 and 33

*Read Lynn: Ch. 4-1, 4-2, 4-7

*Self study and review: Pickar Ch. 1 (Fractions, decimals)

*Complete Taylor online nursing skills:

--- Module 2: Asepsis and infection control

--- Topics: 1, 3, 4 and 5

--- Complete Topics 1, 3, 5 (questions)

--- Implementation (video)

I think I got everything but if someone else have something else in the list please share.

And she said we have to wear scrubs for the lab only.... and I think she mentioned we have lab Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday which means Friday is the only day we can wear regular clothes.
