Hey all i am a fall 2012 applicant, i have taken all classes and will be taking pharm in the spring 2012 session. Lets support each other in this process!!

Hey guys,

so i finally submitted my app & teas scores. Do they send a confirmation email or anything?? whats the next step?

I'm also applying this app period, just waiting to take Teas V.

Telma did you receive a paper confirmation when you submitted you application? That is all I was given wo far. I think we will receive something in the mail regarding when we are approved to enroll in pharm, but I am already taking it so I just need to submit an updated transcript after completing this semester. Anyone else know the next step?

yeah i did from the counselor i gave my app to, but i haven't received anyting else yet.

On my third math exam in pharm I scored a 97.5. I think pharm is an easy class so long as you study and the math is not that difficult and I am not a math person.

I am out of the running. I will not be attending the program at HCC, I have been accepted at Lone Star!!! Good luck everyone, hope you do well!!!

I just got an email with info to the pharmacology course for the summer!

I was accepted at Lone Star Tomball campus!!! I will not be attending HCC-Coleman, as it was my plan B. I have notified the advisors at Coleman that I do not intend to attend the program there. Good luck everyone!!

I am enrolled for the pharm class this summer. I wanted to know how is it at Coleman? Are the professors helpful or are they the type that makes things harder than it should be? Any info would be great. Also is study the book all you need or di you use other books or apps? Sorry for all the questions just trying to be prepared. Thanks again.

I just took the HCC pharmacology final exam today.

How well you do in the class is contingent upon the amount of independent study you put in. You are assigned chapters to read every week. In order to do well, you must read ahead of schedule. There is a lot of information to cover in a short amount of time. You must learn drug classifications, drug-drug interactions, drug adverse effects, simple nursing diagnoses, patient teaching, math pertaining to the administration of said drugs and, of course, generic names.

The class meets once weekly. My professor mostly read from a power point which certainly wasn't the most helpful or stimulating lecture I've endured, but I still managed to get a low A in the class.

This class demands independent study time, all of which is from the book (no apps required). You will have online quizzes to take, but they are affiliated with the text book and only require Internet Explorer or Mozilla (no Chrome :S).

I suggest utilizing this website, quizlet(.)com, to create flash cards and generate practice tests for yourself. Good luck in your future education!

I too completed the course, but it was at Lone Star. Your class sounds just like the one I took. I also made an A in my class. We did not have online quizzes, instead we had online exams over lecture and in class math calculation quizzes. We had to read ahead of each lecture and it was really a lot of independent study. I did really well on the math quizzes. well, I guess an A shows that I also did well on the exams as well. we did not meet every week, but we did have reading assignments for when we did not have class. could not afford to get behind in reading because those chapters take forever to read and everytime you turned around there was an exam that covered several chapters. i am glad i took the class i really learned a lot of information

Thank your for your responses. I started reading already but do not have a guide to what chapters? Did they just go in order or did they jump around cause thats a big book. lol Plus I like the fact that it has an ebook so i will be able to read it on my iPad. Thanks again for the help
