PLEASE HELP ME

I have a bachelors in biology(2006, NO JOB) and i am looking for nursing schools in Texas to apply to. I tried applying for the summer (2008) programs at UTEP and Midwestern State. BUT Midwestern State said i was #10 on their waiting list. I was rejected at UTEP because i dont have A&P and Pyschology courses.

i am registered to take A&P I&II at the local community college this summer.

I need help in finding admissions to schools for FALL 2008/SPRING 2009.

PLEASE I NEED ADVICE. I AM OPEN TO ANY SUGGESTION. I AM GETTING FRUSTRATED here.

PLEASE GIVE ME SITES/LINKS FOR THESE SCHOOLS. IT DONT MATTER WHAT PART OF TEXAS.

please help me.

Guys, I filled out an online application for utmb yesterday for the fast track 2009 program and this morning I received a call from the school, because I made a mistake by applying to a non degree program. I was really nervous. I sturttered a lot (it was my first call from a school).

I think the lady is gonna throw away my application as soon as she hung up..Please pray 4 me.

It was nice of her to call you after she found an error or a mistake on your application. I was never called when there was a problem with mine. I had to call in myself!

Hi, can somebody please explain to me the difference between the HESI and NET test?

]I only took the NET, not HESI. It is entirely up to you if want to take the HESI or not. If the school/program of your choice requires it, then it's worth taking it. I only applied to the ones that either require or do not require the NET. There are many posts you can find in this forum about the HESI, so you shouldn't have a problem finding information about it. From my understanding and please correct me if I'm wrong, the HESI is much harder because it will ask you of your understanding of anatomy (and other possible science questions). As I was doing my research on most of the BSN schools/programs in Texas, more of them are switching or considering their pre-entrance examination from NET to HESI. I suggest contacting one of the advisors or whoever to make sure they take the same pre-entrance examination like it stated on the link. A few schools I contacted with failed to update and inform that online! I made a smart move or else I would be wasting my time and money on something they are no longer accepting. Hope this helps!

TCU (Texas Christian University) requires the A2 Test currently (they did require a different test for previous years apparently)

I would also recommend Texas Christian University's Accelerated program if you already have a degree. It starts in May & is about 15 months long, finishing in August. They DO require anatomy & physiology, but that is usually a requirement of all nursing schools.

Go to their website:

http://www.hsn.tcu.edu/default.asp

Usually the deadline to apply to TCU is in December & then the deadline to apply separately to the nursing program is in January/February *You must apply to both TCU & the Nursing Program separately to get in the program.

It costs more than TWU, but doesn't require some of the courses TWU does (like 6 credits of US Govt & another 6 credits of political science, etc.) TWU is also only offered in Houston this year (2008) and then it will be offered in Dallas (Denton I believe) in 2009. It rotates every year apparently.

The cost for TCU for this year is about $11,000 for the summer semester, $13,000 for the fall & another $13,000 for spring semester & then about $10,000 (this is not definite yet) for the last summer semester.

They don't really offer any grants or scholarships for the program, but there are PLENTY of student loans available to TCU ABT (accelerated bacalaureate track) students. If you can get them, I would recommend to take any Perkins loans first...although they are hard to come by (because they are completely forgiven when you become an RN).

Texas Christian University DOES require a religion course, unlike most of the other schools, however.

I'm actually in the program at TCU right now, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality BSN education.

Good luck!
