Getting a job while on TPAPN?

I've read a bunch of the threads on tpapn but alot of the posts are older and I'm just curious if possibly things have changed. I am getting my license reinstated (praise the lord!) with the stipulation that I complete tpapn. I know it is very difficult to find a job but I'm curious if anyone in the Houston area knows of places that might consider me?? I have critical care experience and several degrees. Any help would be appreciated.

Many of my coworkers have been on TPAPN, and were able to find jobs.

However, there is one major catch! I do not know of any hospitals that want to deal with the restrictions imposed by having a TPAPN order on one's license. Once the major hospitals discover that a nurse is participating in TPAPN, they often freeze up and rescind any job offers that might have been made.

With that having been said, most of the TPAPN nurses in my area are employed in workplace settings that many people deem to be less desirable such as nursing homes, freestanding dialysis centers, clinics, doctors offices, group homes for the mentally retarded, and home health.

I would suggest trying Healthsouth Rehab Hospitals around Houston area. I know that they are willing to assist you with those stipulations. And a truly great place to work!!

Thank you for your suggestions! My paperwork is being finalized so I will be job searching soon and the nerves are really kicking in. I bought new suits so I'm ready to go!

I have been with Healthsouth The Woodlands for three years, and we have had a number of excellent Nurses on TPAPN work in our facility. Many of them have completed their program and are now part of the Healthsouth family!!! There are three Hospitals in N Houston... LTAC-Red Oak off of 1960, ACUTE RE-HAB- Humble, and ACUTE RE-HAB The Woodlands (N Houston). Good Luck to you!!!
